Wooden houses surrounded by a thick forest, classical music playing softly in the background. a very special cafe, three meals a day and several outdoor activity areas. This sounds like a dream vacation arrangement（安排）. But this is not a place for people. It's for cats in the province of Samsun, Türkiye.
Kedi Kasabas, or “cat town”, is one interesting place in the country, a place where cats can experience what real comfort is!
The town, which covers an area of around 20 acres, is run by the local city and most admitted guests have a hard backstory.“ All cats here are homeless and usually go through sufferings before being brought here. They are either injured or mentally suffer. We treat them and put them back into the town. The environment here is really beautiful for them,” Faruk Kan, a Kedi Kasabas vet, said.
Kan is not the only vet working at the shelter. There's a whole team looking after the cats and making sure all their needs are met. The place even has a special area for sick or injured cats, where they receive personalized（个性化的） treatment.
There are currently 150 animals living in “cat town”, and the number keeps rising. There are wooden houses where they can rest, and also houses designed for socializing. During the winter they are provided with heated accommodation, so feeling convenient and warm is a sure thing for these furry creatures.
The love for cats seems to be a Turkish favourite. Istanbul is known for being home to several hundred thousand cats. There, people take care of street cats like kings. The four- legged friends are fed and kept healthy and they have already become part of the city view.
Even though cats may have a happy life outdoors in the forest or wandering around in the city streets, there's nothing like having a stable（稳定的） home, lying next to a human friend.

Workers continue to search the ruins of a large earthquake that hit Morocco Friday. Officials say almost 2,500 were killed in the quake, but that they expect that number will rise. The United Nations said the magnitude 6.8 earthquake affected 300,000 people. The damage（损失） was great because the starting point of the shaking was not far below the ground.
It is the strongest quake to hit the North African nation since 1900. And, it is reported to be the country's deadliest since 1960, when at least 12,000 people were killed in and near the city of Agadir.
So far, Morocco has accepted support from four countries—— Spain, Qatar, Great Britain and the United Arab Emirates. Other nations have offered help as well. Groups from the Moroccan army left Monday from Amizmiz to move into the small mountain villages. Heavy equipment was sent to clear the roads and both visitors and local people lined up to give blood.
Many people continued to sleep outside, fearing smaller earthquakes that often follow a major one. In the village of Imgdal, women and children gathered outside and some kept warm around an open fire on Monday morning.
On a road near the town of Adassil, near the epicenter（震中）, one rescue（救援） worker, Ayman Koait, was trying to clear the rocks that were restraining trucks from getting by. He said other roads were in bad shape.“ We' re trying to open them, too,” said Ayman Koait.
People said they dug through the ruins of their homes looking for relatives. They also moved rocks and walls looking for important items.
Many of the homes are made from wood, rock and mud, which made them fall easily when the ground started shaking. One military（军方的） worker said“ it is difficult to pull people out alive” because the walls turned into ruins and did not leave any space for air.

The 37- year- old artist, Kelly McKernan, from Nashville, Tennessee calls her works“ surreal（超现实的）”. She says they are “dealing with discomfort in the human journey”. Living as an artist is difficult enough. Now McKernan faces another challenge: artificial intelligence （ AI）.
About a year ago, McKernan began seeing online images（图像） strangely similar to her own. She soon learned that companies were feeding artwork into Al systems to train software programs to create similar images. McKernan said, “I didn’t give my agreement for my name or works to be used this way.”
McKernan said she even tried to contact some of the companies to say“ Hey, little artist here,I know you' re not thinking of me at all, but it would be really cool if you didn't use my work like this.” But there was no answer.
In January, McKernan, and two other artists, Karla Ortiz and Sarah Andersen, started action by law against three image- generator companies: Stability AI, Stable Diffusion and Midjourney. They also included the online gallery DeviantArt in the case.
The artists are seeking to protect their copyrighted works and their careers. They say the AI image- generator s violate（侵犯） the rights of millions of artists by using their artworks for training and then producing similar works that compete against the originals（原作）. The artists are seeking damages and a court order to stop Al companies from using their works without being allowed.
Karla Ortiz works in the entertainment industry. Her work has been used in several well- known movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Jurassic World. She feared that film companies would think artworks from artists cost too much. Why, she asked, would film companies buy artworks from artists if they can pay $30 a month for Al- created works

How to Help Your Garden Get Through the Heat
Record- breaking heat is affecting plants in many places around the world. But gardening expert Jessica Damiano says selecting the right plants and a little care could save them.
Damiano says that in serious heat, and when that heat is dry, the soil loses water in it quickly. 36 This requires them to use energy to cool down and use water. This energy should be spent on growth, flowering, fruiting and reproducing. The stress often completely weakens the plant.

Finally, Damiano says the last addition is a good deal of covering on top. Covering not only keeps things looking clean, but it also helps to keep soil wetness and soil temperatures even. 40 Covering can mean the difference between life and death when it gets hot.

My name is Bronson Layton. I am 23 years old, I am a college student, and I have a story that I feel should be shared with the world.
I come from a family that had never had a single record of ancestry with autism（自闭症）, until the day I was born. When I was two years old, my parents were still getting used to the lifestyle of raising a normal kid, but what they had noticed was what they considered “ out of the ordinary" behavior. My diagnosis was in 1999, a time when autism was still not commonly understood and was still being observed. As I got older, I began to change from keeping myself alone to getting with other kids once I entered public school in first grade.
