UNIT 2 We’re Family!
元音可分为单元音和双元音。单元音只有一个元音音素,且单元音发音时,舌位、唇形、开口度始终不变。双元音则由两个元音音素构成,且双元音中的发音牵涉到两种不同的舌位,并且从其中一种舌位滑动到另一舌位。

一般情况下,’s所有格、名词复数以及动词的第三人称单数形式中末尾s/es的发音是一样的规则。

在/s/, /z/, /t /等音素后读/ z/,如:watches / w t z/。
接t, d时,连读为/ts/, /dz/,如:reads /ri dz/。

音节
英语单词由字母组成,字母按照一定的规律组合在一起就成了音节,音节是由一个元音或一个元音同若干个辅音组成的发音单位。英语单词有单音节词、双音节词和多音节词之分。

双音节单词的重音
对于双音节词和多音节词,有的音节须读得重些,叫重读音节;有的音节要读得轻些,叫非重读音节。
