Good morning,my dear judges!I am No.15 candidate.It's my pleasure to stand here and share my teaching thoughts with all of you!
Today my topic is“David's hobbies”.In order to make my presentation clearer,Pll present my lesson from the following 4 aspects:analysis of teaching material,analysis of students,teaching and learning methods,and teaching procedures.Now,I will present them one by one.
First is about the teaching material.
This unit is Module 6 Unit 2,and it comes from the second-term textbook of Junior 8 by
Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The theme of the module “Hobbies”is
related to the students daily life around them.So it is easy for them to understand.While In this unit,students can learn how to describe one's hobbies,and understand the advantages
(
of
one's
hobbies,and
then.
)
There are 3 parts of this lesson.They are "just talk","just learn"and "let's play".
In the first part,students will learn a short dialogue.And in the second part,students will learn the new words:red,blue&red and blue.In the last part,students will grasp this dialogue.
Based on the analysis of the teaching material,I set up the following teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:students can understand the and learn to use “red,blue,red and blue” and to master 2 dialogues about colours.
Ability Aims:students knowhow to express colours of their things like pencils,schoolbags or rulers simply.Students'interest of using language and communicating with others could be improved.
Moral aims:Students learn to talk about colours in English and cultivate a polite manner when they are talking,and show their appreciations generously.
At the same time,I set the key and difficult points as follows:
Teaching key points:students can master the keywords and the question sentence “What
colour is it .”
Teaching difficult point:students are capable to use the useful expression to communicate with others in the real situation.
Second,in order to make students the real masters of the class,I will analyze my students. Students in Grade 8 are active and they are willing to speak English.But their listening and speaking abilities are not good enough,so I will teach them by listening more times and give the further explanation,in this way I believe it can improve their listening and speaking abilities.
Third,I will talk about my teaching and learning methods.
This is a reading lesson.And other teaching methods are also used in this lesson,like situational teaching method,cooperative teaching method and intuitive teaching method.In these ways,they can work with partners to raise their sense of cooperation.
As for learning methods,in this class students mainly use cooperative learning methods.In this ways,they can work with partners to raise their sense of cooperation.
Now,let's move on to the most important part —teaching procedures.
Step 1.Warming-up &lead-in
In this part,I will show the students pictures of hobbies for them to speak out these hobbies then read these hobbies together.
Ask them their own hobbies and why they like the hobby.Give them some words to describe.
Step 2.Presentation
Ask Ss to read the passage fast to get the main idea of each para and then match.
Then comes to reading for specific information.First,read para 1 and finish the blanks on the worksheet.To highlight the advantages of hobbies as well as some key phrases and structures.
Second read para 2 and answerthe 2 questions which is set for them to get what and when. and also a sentence translation.
Step 3.Practice
The third step,controlled practice.In this part,teacher will guide the students to practice the dialogues with their partners.The dialogues will be shown on the ppt as support.
The following part is language input 2.Firstly,I will guide students to learn dialogue 2 in the form of interaction and play a game named“guessing the colour”.Then,I will invite a volunteer to guess the colour.He or she will play the role as teacher did just now and make the dialogue with the whole class.
Step 4.Production
Next part,production.Students will make a dialogue about guessing colour with their partners using their own things like books and pencils.And some students will be invited to show their dialogues in front of the whole class.Also,the target words are shown separately on the ppt as support.
When students make a performance,feedback is very important.So according to students role-play,teacher will give some feedback and guide students to review all the target language and emphasize the spelling.
Step 5.Summary
Summary can help students consolidate their knowledge in time.Thus,I will let the students make conclusion,then,I give them some supplements timely.After that,encourage the students to practice English everyday.
Step 6.Homework
Open homework can arouse students'learning interest and stimulate their potential.I will encourage students to use the expression to communicate with their friends and family members.
