Students can use opening and farewell phrases accurately and appropriately to greet and communicate with others in 1b.Students can practise complete conversations about greeting different people and write in a standardized way in 1c and 1d.Why: Through the study of the conversations and repeated practice, students are able to accurately and appropriately issue greetings and make responses according to different communication targets. Initially realize the importance of taking the initiative to greet people and politely start a conversation in interpersonal communication.How: This lesson is organized in the form of a conversation. First, it introduces how to exchange greetings and simple exchanges of information by using appropriate opening and farewell phrases. Then it presents the way in which names are formed in English and compares English names with Chinese names. Finally, the course considers how to give and respond accurately and appropriately to different audience, including first-time greetings and greetings between acquaintances.
