一、教学目标
1.To learn about the benefits that the Internet brings to our daily life.
2.To improve the reading skills like skimming and scanning for
details.
二、教材分析
The theme of this unit is the Internet,the global system of interconnected computer networks that has connected the world over the past few decades and has become the backbone of global industry and modern culture.Students will learn about online habits and communities,contemporary Internet technology such as apps and blogs,as well as social media and the influence it has on modern life.Finally,students will step further into the realm of e-learning,and will learn to analyze related websites and apps.It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit to reflect upon how the Internet has and will affect their lives and the world around them in the future,as well as teaching them the inherent power and danger of this

essential technology.
三、学情分析
students are now in the first grade of senior high school. They have a certain language and grammar foundation and can answer some simple questions.However,it is still difficult to express their own opinions independently,so they need some help from teachers.Despite their weak foundation,they have good study habits.They can think about the problems seriously, and accept the learning methods provided by the teachers actively.I believe students can make progress if they can study hard.
四、教学重难点
Teaching important points:
1.To make students have a full understanding of the text. 2.To make students learn more about the Internet.
Teaching difficult points:
1.To consolidate the reading skills like skimming and scanning for details.
2.To enable the students to voice their opinion freely.

Step 1 Lead-in Show some words and phrases on the PowerPoint and let students fill in the blanks on their paper Fill in the blanks on the paper based on the words and phrases the teacher showed on the PowerPoint. To test whether students master words and phrases which have learned before.
Show some pictures on the PowerPoint Describe what the men were doing in the pictures. Let students improve their ability of summary and oral English.
Step 2 Pre-reading Show the headline on the PowerPoint and let students prepare the main idea of the passage and the attitude of the writer Predict the topic and author's attitude according to the title and teacher's prompts. Cultivate students'ability to predict the topic of the article,and lay a certain foundation for students to do reading comprehension. especially the main idea
Step 3 Skimming. Show the questions on the PowerPoints and tell students how to skim,and let them find the main ideas of the passage and paragraphs within 3 minutes. Skimming.summarize the main idea of the article and the general idea of the paragraph,and complete the topic on the PPT based the skill the teacher told. Develop students'ability to skimming and summarize the main ideas of articles and paragraphs according to the main idea sentences.
Step 4 Scanning Show the questions and mind map to the students.Let students discuss in groups and share their answers. Students read the details according to the keywords of the topic,determine the answers and complete the mind map in groups and show the answers according to the teacher's requirements. Develop students'ability of scanning and group cooperation,and let them summarize the main content of the article and complete the mind map.
Step 5 Post-reading Give students short passages and ask them to fill in the blanks according to Fill in the blanks according to the passage Improve students' summarizing ability and help them review simple grammar knowledge.

Step 6 Review and Homework. 1.Review reading skills and the main idea of the passage. 2.Homework. Summarize the main idea of the passage and reading skills with the teacher. Let students identify the methods of skimming and scanning,so as to use them properly in the reading comprehension.
六、作业设计(适应“双减”要求的分层作业)
Finish activity 4 in the textbook on page 29.If students
have opinions on advantages and disadvantages of the Internet, they can finish activity 5.
七、教学反思
The theme of this unit is Internet,which is close to students'life and easy to arouse students'interest.Therefore,in the teaching process,I try to guide students to learn actively,encourage students to develop their listening,speaking,reading and writing skills through self-study and group discussion,and help them develop their ability to explore knowledge and obtain information,as well as critical thinking and innovative spirit.There are the following problems in the class:
1.In the process of independent research,students can find the topic of the article,but it takes more time than the scheduled time.Therefore, students may not have enough time to do the questions in their exams.

2.From the practical effect,students are more enthusiastic about group discussion,so the tasks need to progress from easy to difficult. Most students can find the answers in the passage in the group discussion and complete the mind map according to the requirement of scanning. However,there are few students can understand the passage fully,and they can't complete the tasks accurately.
3.Some students can't express their opinions freely in the class. Therefore,in the next class,we should pay more attention to students and let them become main body of the class to make it more lively.
