He felt proud of ________.Answers: 1. downtown 2. through 3. coffee 4. entrance 5. himselfStep 6: Language Points1. “Let’s see,” Brian says as he reads the paper. “让我看看，”布莱恩一边看报纸一边说。as作连词，引导时间状语从句时，表示“在……期间；当……的时候；一边……一边……”。when和as引导时间状语从句的区别：when可以和延续性动词连用，也可以和短暂性动词连用；as多和延续性动词连用。when引导的从句的谓语动词可以在主句谓语动作之前、之后或同时发生；as引导的从句的谓语动词必须是和主句谓语动作同时发生。【例句】He sat watching her as she got ready. 他一直坐着看她准备停当。2. “This must be it,” Brian says to himself. “一定是这样了，”布莱恩自言自语道。must在此处的意思是“一定……”，表推测，一般只用于肯定句中。表示对现在情况的推测用“must + do”，表示对过去情况的推测用“must + have done”。【例句】He must be at home now, because his car is parked in front of his house.他现在一定在家，因为他的车就停在房子前面。3. lose →lost →lost v. 丢失be lost = get lost be和get均为系动词，lost为形容词，还可以表达为：lose one’s way【例句】He was lost in the park. =He got lost in the park.=He lost his way in the park. 他在公园里迷路了。4. Five minutes later Brian arrives at the entrance of the theatre.五分钟后，布莱恩来到剧院门口。一段时间+ later意为“多长时间以后”Step7 : Game建议：以游戏的形式，锻炼学生的口语表达能力。Example:T: Play the game “Get lost”.
