Boats have been around for thousands of years. 船已经存在了几千年。“for+ 一段时间”表示动作从过去开始一直持续到现在,常用于现在完成时的句子中。现在完成时的句子结构为“主语+have/has+过去分词+其他”。【例句】The movie has been on for ten minutes. 电影已经开始十分钟了。thousands of 意为“成千上万的,数以千计的”。当用hundred,thousand,million,billion等词表示一个不具体的数字时,这些词用复数形式,而且常与介词of连用来修饰名词。【例句】Thousands of visitors come to Beijing during May Day holidays every year.每年五一假期成千上万名游客来北京。5. All of these cars make the U.S. a nation on wheels. 所有这些汽车使美国成为一个车轮上的国家。“make sb./sth.+n.”意为“使……成为……”,在本句中,on wheels是后置定语,修饰a nation。【例句】We make Bob our monitor. 我们推选鲍勃当班长。6.
