教 学 过 程 Step 1: Lead in 建议：教师提出问题，导入新课。Ⅰ. For example:T: What types of hobbies can you think of Ss: Skiing./Skating./Singing./Dancing./Reading./Drawing./Gardening.T: Very good. What new hobby do you have S1: My new hobby is surfing the Internet. I like it because it’s fun and interesting.Ⅱ. For example:T: Hobbies are an important part of a person’s life. Hobbies are fun and they can help you develop some useful skills.Read and discuss each saying. Then discuss similar sayings in Chinese.T: Do you know any similar sayings in Chinese Step 2: Presentation建议：教师展示多媒体课件，上面是本课时需要学习的单词，首先让学生认真听每个词的发音，注意重音、把握节奏，并且要求学生模仿跟读，然后结合意思进行读写训练。【设计意图】对课本内容的熟悉与学习，是知识技能的教学，也是实现情感目标的基础。Step 3: Listening建议：听录音，填空。1. A hobby is not only fun but also useful.爱好不仅有趣而且有用。not only…but also… 不但……而且……用于连接两个并列的成分，着重强调后者， also有时可以省略。【例句】Not only Mr. Lin but also his son joined the Party two years ago.林先生和他的儿子在两年前都入了党。【拓展】not only…but also…作主语时，谓语动词要根据but also后的成分决定单复数形式(就近原则)。【例句】Not only the teacher but also the students were against the plan.不仅那位老师，还有学生们都反对该项计划。2. confidence n. 信心常用结构：build one’s confidence 树立某人的信心have confidence in 对……有信心【例句】He is always full of confidence in everything.他总是对每一件事都充满信心。If you want to succeed, you must build your confidence from the beginning.如果你想要成功，你必须从一开始就树立信心。3. People usually take up their first hobby when they are kids, but hobbies are fun for all. 人们通常在他们还是孩子的时候就开始了他们的第一个爱好，但是爱好对所有人来说都是有趣的。take up 开始从事；学着做；开始做此外，take up还可表示“占据”，既可以指时间上的“占据”，也可以指空间上的“占据”。[【例句】Take up a new topic. 开始一个新的话题。The big clock takes up too much room. 这个大钟占太多的地方。4. It’s never too late to learn something new. 学习新东西永远不会嫌晚。“It’s never too +adj.+to do sth.”意为“做某事永远都不太……”，It为形式主语，真正的主语是动词不定式短语。too…to…意为“太……而不能……”，本身有否定的意味。【例句】We are never too old to learn. 活到老，学到老。something new一些新的事物，new作something的定语，形容词修饰不定代词时,常放在不定代词的后面。【例句】There is nothing wrong with you. 你没有错。[5. Early trains were slow by today’s standards. 以今天的标准来看，早期的火车很慢。介词by在句中的意思是“按照”，后加名词或代词作宾语，在句中常作状语，表示方式。by today’s standards意为“根据今天的标准”。【例句】You have to play by the rules.你们必修按规则比赛。standard是可数名词，意为“标准，水平”。a new standard新标准Step 7: Summary建议：让学生自己总结本节课主要学习了什么，还有哪些疑惑？教师可作补充。For example: 本节课我们主要学习了如何用英语简单介绍自己从爱好中得到的收获。课后，希望大家能运用本节课所学准确谈论相关话题。
