The game was almost over. 比赛快结束了。辨析 almost 与 nearly这两个词意思接近，肯定句中可以换用；一般说来，almost 的差距比nearly 小，因此，在差一刻开午饭时，可以说：It’s nearly lunch time. 快开午饭了。在差5分的时候，可以说：It’s almost lunch time. 马上要开午饭了。almost 能和 never，no，none，nothing，nobody，nowhere，too等连用而nearly则不能。almost和nearly都可用在行为动词的否定式之前。【例句】That was almost too little. 那几乎太少了。He almost (或 nearly) didn’t hear what I said. 他几乎没听清我说了什么。6. play for... 为……效力,为……打比赛【例句】Which team do you play for 你在哪个队效力 He is playing for the National Team. 他为国家队效力。【拓展】与play相关的常用短语play against... 与……对抗 play with.... 与……一起玩，以……为消遣 play out 破产,结束【例句】Which team did they play against this time 这次他们与哪个队比赛 Tom likes playing with the big boys although he is very young.汤姆虽然很小却喜欢和大男孩们玩。7. …but I want to continue taking P.E. ……但我想继续上体育课。continue doing sth. 继续做同一件事（还没完成） continue to do sth. 继续做另一件事（之前的事已经完成）【例句】After reading, he continued reading the book.稍事休息后，她继续看书。 After he finished reading the novel, he continued to play games with his friends. 他读完小说后继续跟朋友们玩游戏。Step 8: Summary建议：让学生自己总结本节课主要学习了什么，还有哪些疑惑？教师可作补充。For example: 本节课我们主要学习了如何用英语谈论自己和他人的特别之处。课后，希望大家能运用本节课所学准确谈论相关话题。
