My friend Lisa, however, is pretty and smart. 然而,我的朋友丽萨,既聪明又漂亮。however 意为“可是,然而,尽管”,较but 的意味弱。其位置可以在句首,句末或插入句中。当其被用来对照两个分句时,中间需要有一个逗号;当它被用作句子的插入语时,则前后应各有一个逗号。【例句】His friends, however, had other ideas. 然而他的朋友们却另有见解。【拓展】(1)but 作为并列连词,在意义上起转折作用。but 前后的两个句子或短语在意义上形成鲜明对照。but 用来连接两个分句或两个较长的短语时,but 前面一般要加逗号。【例句】He is old but strong. 他年纪虽大却很强壮。Learning the guitar isn’t difficult, but you will have to practice.学弹吉他并不难,但是你得练习。(2)and 作并列连词,用来连接两个相同的句子成分。这两个句子成分可以是单词、短语或分句。and 连接两个分句时,分句本身都有自己的主语。如果第二个分句的主语与第一个分句的主语相同,则第二个分句中的主语可以省略。【例句】When and where were you born 你出生在何时何地 John and Tom are our good friends. 约翰和汤姆都是我们的好朋友。2. I get average grades in all of my subjects except English.我所有的学科都得平均分,除了英语。average可作名词,意为“平均;一般水平”,on average意为“平均水平”。也可作形容词,意为“一般的;平均的”。【例句】The average of 4 and 6 is 5. 4和6的平均数是5。On average he works eight hours a day. 他平均一天工作八小时。The average age of the workers here is only 25. 这里工人的平均年龄只有25岁。辨析except, except for与besides(1)except意为“除……之外(没有……)”,着重强调在同类人或物中除去一个或几个,表示一种排除关系,有“减除”之意。(2)except for意为“除了……”,except是指排除同类,而except for是指排除非同类,常在说明基本情况后,从细节上加以修正。(3)besides意为“除了……(还有……)”,指在整体中加入一部分,表示一种累加关系,besides后的内容包含在所述情况内,常与other连用。【例句】All the other five representatives arrived late except me.除了我,其他的五位代表都来晚了。(晚到的代表中不包括“我”)The movie was good except for the ending.这部电影除了结尾之外都很好。 Five other representatives arrived late besides me.除了我,还有五位代表来晚了。(晚到的代表中包括“我”) 【注意】but与except的用法基本相同并常互换使用,但but着重强调整句的内容,且习惯上用于every/all/any/nothing/no/who 等词后。 【例句】She could do nothing but crying.她除了哭没有别的办法。3. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. 最重要的是要从失败中吸取教训。动词不定式短语to learn from your mistakes 该短语在句子中作表语。【例句】His work is to drive a car. 他的工作是开车。My job is to feed animals. 我的工作是饲养动物。Her ambition is to be a doctor. 她的理想是当一名医生。【拓展】不定式除了可作表语外,还可在句中作主语、宾语、状语、宾语补足语和后置定语。【例句】To see is to believe. 眼见为实。(作主语)After class the students stopped to have a rest.课后,同学们停下来去休息。(作宾语)He ran so fast as to catch the first bus.他飞快地跑以便赶上第一班公交车。(作状语)He asked me to talk about English study.他让我谈谈英语学习。(作宾语补足语)Zhang Jian is the first to swim across the river.张健是第一个游过这条河的人。(作后置定语)Step7 : Summary建议:让学生自己总结本节课主要学习了什么,还有哪些疑惑?教师可作补充。For example: 本节课我们主要学习了如何根据他人的优缺点提供自己的建议,这是我们这一节课的重点,也是这节课的难点,我们会在以后的学习中继续学习和巩固。
课堂作业 1.口头作业: 朗读本节课学到的课文。2.书面作业: 写一篇关于你自己的短文,介绍一下你的优缺点还有当你犯错时你会怎么做。
