You can determine how many syllables a word has based on how many vowels are in that word

Open Syllabels
(开音节）
When the vowel is at the end of a syllable and there is no consonant trapping or closing in the vowel, the vowel says its long name.

(开音节）
When the vowel is at the end of a syllable and there is no consonant trapping or closing in the vowel, the vowel says its long name.
开音节: 在开音节中，元音字母发他本身字母音。
1. 绝对开音节： 是以元音字母结尾，如：blue ba-by stu-dent se-cert
2. 相对开音节：辅音字母+元音字母辅音字母+不发音e的音节（re除外）
