第二课时(Pronunciation)
Study of the Text                         
What: This lesson is a phonetic class. Part 1 presents the pronunciation of the five vowel letters and examples in a table. In Part 2, students are asked to circle the word(s) with the sound in each group. Parts 3 and 4 help to consolidate the pronunciation of the vowel letters through listening and chanting.
Why: Through listening, repeating, chanting and other forms, students can master the basic pronunciation of the five vowel letters and master certain pronunciation rules and initially establish phonological awareness.
How: Present the basic pronunciation of the five vowel letters by categorizing and chanting them.
Teaching Objectives                         
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1.know what the five vowel letters are and how to pronounce them correctly;
2.read and tell different vowel sounds in different words;
3.practise different vowel sounds by reading the chant.

1.To know what the five vowel letters are and how to pronounce them correctly. Step 1 Lead-in 1.Free talk: There are five very special English letters. Do you know what they are ◎Key: A/a, E/e, I/i, O/o, U/u 2.Work on 1.Listen and repeat. Pay attention to the sounds. Tip: 当单词拼写是“辅+元+辅+e”时,其中的元音字母的发音通常为字母本音,比如like。 Step 2 Work on 2 Circle the word(s) with the sound in each group. ◎Key: 1.late; take 2.me 3.kite; ice  4.nose; go 5.duke Observe whether stu-dents can pronounce vowel letters “a, e, i, o, u” correctly. Find out their mastery of vowel letters' pronunciation.
Purpose Create a situation to introduce the five vowel letters to stimulate students' interest in learning.
2.To read and tell different vowel sounds in different words.  Step 3 Presentation Work on 3. Listen and practise reading the words. 1.game  plane   lake 2.she we be 3.time rice white 4.close rose home 5.music student pupil Observe whether stu-dents can recognize the basic sound of each vowel letter, grasp the essentials of each sound, and read the corresponding word(s) aloud. Give instructions and feedback as needed.
Purpose To guide students to perceive and summarize the rules of the pronunciation of vowel letters.
3.To practise different vowel sounds by reading the chant. Step 4 Practice 1.Work on 4. Listen and read the chant aloud. 2.Chant again, and memorize the sounds. /e / wake, Kate, late, say /i / meet, me, We /a / fine, nine, fly, my, kite, ride, bike / u/ Don't, So, no, go /ju / cute 3.Exercise. Observe whether stu-dents can follow the recordings correctly and read by themselves. Capture how well students internalize what they have learned. Focus on the students' abilities to read the chant correctly and con-fidently. Give guidance and feedback as needed.
Purpose Through different forms of practice activities such as reading, sorting and chanting, help students to consolidate the different pronunciations of the five vowel letters they have learned.
Homework Required: Read the letters and words in this lesson. Optional: Identify more words corresponding to the common pronunciation of each of the five vowel letters.
