Guide the student to talk about plans and preferences on TV shows by using infinitives. 教学难点: Help students master the structures, function and usages of infinitives.教学过程Teaching contents Teacher’s activity Students’ activity PurposesStep 1 Warming up Game: Quick Eyes. Show the pictures quickly. Ask students to talk about their opinions about different TV shows. Ss answer the questions loudly to express their opinions about different shows as quickly as they can when seeing the pictures. Help students review expressions on TV shows and talk about their preference .Step 2 Listening Introduce two friends of mine Frank and Mary who are making plans for Friday night. Ask students to listen to their conversation and answer the questions. Play the recording again and have them fill in the blanks. Students read the questions and then listen carefully to answer the questions. Students look through the paragraph and fill in the blanks. Train the listening skills of getting the specific information in a quick way. Lead students to learn to talk about plans and get to know the function of to-infinitives by listening.Step 3 Presentation Lead students to look carefully and find out the structure of an infinitive --- to do after a verb as an object. Have students summarize more verbs with to-infinitives and try to translate the sentences. Ask students to read the sentences in Grammar Focus and circle the verbs with infinitives. Ask students to work on Activity 3a. Let students enjoy a song and then find out the new structure by looking at the sentences. Then have them do some exercises. Help students learn some verbs with infinitives and gerunds by talking about Lily’s problem. Ask students to help Lily solve her problem. Read and look carefully to find out the same structure: to do. Try to summarize more verbs with infinitives after them. Work on Grammar Focus. Read and circle the verbs with infinitives. . Work on Activity plete the conversation and practice it with a partner. Enjoy a song and complete the lyrics. Then find out the structure the sentences have. Then do some exercises. Learn about Lily’s problem and the new structure:V.+ to do & V. + doing; find / think / feel +it +adj./n. +to do sth. Try to help Lily solve her problem by making a to-do list.. Help students get to know the structures by observing the sentences. Through many pictures and example sentences, help students to understand how to use infinitives as objects.Step 4 Thinking Let students think about why people enjoy watching TV shows. Lead them to know how TV programs affect you and learn to choose what to watch carefully. Discuss: Why do people enjoy watching TV shows Learn about the affects of TV shows and learn to choose what to watch carefully. Develop students’ critical thinking by discussing. Lead students to choose the programs that are good to them.Step 5 Summary Summarize the usage of infinitives as objects. Review what is learnt during this class. Help students to review the structures.Step 6 Homework Tell students they must finish the sheet of after-class exercises and make a to-do list of this week and get it done. Let them choose to make a conversation with a partner about the to-do list . Try to complete the tasks to consolidate what is learnt in this class. Consolidate the usage of infinitives as objects.
