Starter Unit 3 Welcome
一、单元内容分析
单元主题：欢迎来到农场。该主题属于“人与自然”范畴，涉及“自然生态”主题群，其子主题内容为“常见的动物及其特征”和“热爱并善待生命”。本单元的教学内容以生活农场为载体，使学生学会有关农场动植物及其颜色、数量、位置等表达，学会分辨常见的动植物，增加生活常识，享受农村生活的质朴与宁静，同时学会爱护生命，爱护动植物。
Section A为听说课，从参观爷爷的小院出发，介绍农场的动植物，同时复习询问及回答动植物名称的句型及数量的表达方式。在语音部分，介绍了。
Section B为读写课，以Han Lin介绍叔叔的农场为场景，了解大农场上的事物，介绍对农场的描述及评价等语言知识。
二、单元内容框架
三、单元教学目标
1. 语音知识：学习5个元音字母个字母a, e, i, o, u的第二组发音规律。
2. 词汇知识：掌握本单元的核心语言如fun、yard、carrot、goose、count、another、else、circle、look at等；通过听、说、读、写等活动熟练掌握有关动植物的名称以及数词。
3. 语法知识：能够结合语境运用What is this/that？It’s a/an...？What are these/those？They’re... Is it a/an...？Yes, it is./ No, it isn’t. Are they...？Yes, they are./No, they aren’t.等询问动植物的名称；能够运用I have...，I can see...等介绍农场的具体信息；能够运用How many...介绍动植物的数量，能够运用It’s beautiful表达自己对农场的看法及用Do you like...询问他人意见。
4. 语篇知识：能够通过对话了解一般疑问句和特殊疑问句的特点，体会语义的层层递进关系；从说明性语篇了解说明文的文章结构，语言特点及其信息组织方式，并学习描绘事物及表达情感的用法。
5. 语用知识：了解与农场或小院相关的动植物的名称，表示动植物数量的数词，用来描述动植物特点的形容词，表达个人情感的动词等，能够表达对动植物的喜悦与爱护。
四、单元重难点
1. 重点：
（1）掌握5个元音字母的第二组发音规律及本单元的重点单词，词组和句型。
（2）掌握与他人谈论农场动植物及其数量、颜色，位置，特点等的表达方式。
2. 难点：
（1）区分元音字母在不同情况下的发音。
（2）能够运用所学知识描绘自己的农场并进行有效的书面语言输出。
五、学习策略
（1）借助图片帮助理解图片人物关系并预测对话内容。
（2）在学习过程中，激活并关联已知知识，与新知识进行对比学习。
（3）学习通过关键词来推测并把握整篇对话的语境。
六、文化知识
（1）培养学生认识常见农场小院的动植物，了解自然，对自然有敬畏之心。
（2）理解动植物在人们生活中起到的重要作用，学会爱护动植物并热爱生活。
Period 1 Section A What’s fun in a yard？
一、教材分析
What: 本课时主要包含三部分，第一部分动植物的名称；第二部分谈论小院里动植物的确认及其数量；第三部分介绍元音字母a、e、i、o、u的第二种发音规律。
Why: 通过本节课的学习帮助学生认识农家小院，复习有关动植物的词汇知识，同时学会表达动植物的颜色，数量和特征，培养学生爱护自然的意识。同时学习元音字母的第二组发音规律，提升自己的发音同时根据发音规律辅助单词拼写。
How: 首先通过在农家小院的对话引入What’s this/that？It’s...What are these/those？They’re...这两组有关对动物名称问答的核心对话语言。再通过同学们到Fu Xing爷爷农场的参观复习常见的问候方式，并通过对动植物名称的问答复习物品的确认方式Is this/that/it...？Are they...的句型，同时通过对数量及种类的提问，引入How many..., what kind of... 等核心语言。通过听、说、读、唱感知五个元音字母的第二组发音规律。
二、教学内容
1. 五个元音字母的第二组发音规律。
2. 本课时的重点单词和短语。
3. 动植物的名称及数词。
三、教学目标
1. 掌握5个元音字母的第二组发音规律及其在单词中的拼写规则。
2. 掌握以下重点单词及数词：
fun、yard、carrot、goose
3. 掌握下列句型：
—What’s this/that？—It’s...
—What are these/those？—They’re...
—How many...does... have？—Two/...
4.通过认识农场生活增加生活常识，知道自己常见的食物是如何来的，懂得爱护粮食，同时了解农村生活和城市生活的差异，享受农村生活的质朴。
四、教学重难点
重点：有关谈论动植物名称，数量和特点的核心语言；5个元音字母的发音。
难点：对农场的动植物种类及数量的表达，并内化询问和回答小院信息的语言表达方式。

Step 1 Lead-in
1. Play an English song video The Animals on the Farm and then ask students sing along with the song.
2. T: Watch the video. And tell me what kinds of animals you can see. Now, one, two, begin.

1. Let students work in pairs and practice the sentence pattern “What’s this/that？It’s...” “What are these/those？They’re...”.
2. Let students pay more attention to the usages of “is/are”“this/that”“those/these”“It’s/They’re”.

Step 4 Listening and Speaking
1. Work on 2a.
（1）Let students listen and follow the recording to read aloud the numbers.
（2）Practice the numbers by flashing the numbers in the PPT quickly.
2. Work on 2b.
（1）Listen and write down the numbers.
（2）Check the answers: 1. three 2.eight 3. eleven 4. twelve 5. thirteen 6. fifteen 7. eighteen 8. twenty
3. Look at the picture and say out the number of the plants or animals in the picture. Let students answer by using complete sentences.
4. Work on 2c
（1）Let students read the questions in 2c and predict the possible content of the conversation and circle the important words in the questions.
（2）Play the recording for students and ask them to circle the correct answers.
（3）Check the answers: B; B; A; B

Step 5 Post-listening（Work on 2d）
（1）Ask students to work in pairs and make up a new conversation to talk about the plants and animals in the picture in 1a.
（2）Conclude the sentence patterns.

Step 6 Pronunciation
1. Work on 1.
（1）Let students listen and repeat the sounds.
（2）Conclude the rules according the table.
在闭音节单词中， 字母a，e，i，o，u分别发/ / /e/ / / / / / / 音。
（3）Compare the first rule and the second rule of the pronunciation of a，e，i，o，u.
2. Work on 2.
（1）Play the recording and ask students to put the words into the correct groups in 2.
（2）Ask students to share their answers.
