Greeting & Lead in Show Ss a video about food. T: Please enjoy it and think about the question: What kinds of tastes can you see What are they Present six kinds of tastes: sweet, sour, salty, crispy, hot/spicy, bitter. T: These words describe how food can taste. Now let’s brainstorm. Can you think of some food that is sweet, crispy, salty and sour Write the name of a different food after each word in 1b. 【设计意图】 通过播放与食物相关的视频导入主题,激发学生参与的兴趣,引出生词sour,salty,crispy,并拓展两个课外单词spicy和bitter;用brainstorm的形式,引导学生联系旧知,联想各味道相对应的食物。 2. Pre-listening T: So much delicious food! I’m hungry now. Listen! Someone is eating something. How does it taste It must taste crispy. Can you guess what food it is It’s potato chips! Present a picture in 1c. Ask some questions about potato chips: What do you know about potato chips What do you want to know about them 【设计意图】 播放吃薯片的音效并引入话题和课本图片,激发学生兴趣,培养预测听力材料的能力。通过对薯片背景知识的问答,引发学生思考,为听力任务做好准备。 3. While-listening Activity 1: listen and circle T for true or F for false. T: We should read the statements first before listening. Let’s do it together. Present the meaning of new word, customer, before listening. Activity 2: listen again and complete the sentences in 1d. Show Ss two listening tips. Listening tip 1: Predict the part of speech of each blank. Do you know how potato chips were invented Potato chips __v.__ by a cook called George Crum. They were invented in __n.__. George Crum cut the potatoes really, really __adj./adv.__ and then cooked them for a long time until they were __adj./n.__. Finally he put lots of salt on them so they were __adj./n.__. Listening Tip 2: Write down the first letters while listening. After the activities, check answers. 【设计意图】通过在听力任务之前浏览题目,整体感知对话内容,降低听力难度。通过引出听力技巧,培养学生的学习策略,帮助学生掌握科学的学习方法。 4. Post-listening Activity 1: summarize speaking tips T: When we tell a story, we can think about these “wh-” questions, and use some passive voice to change the focus of a sentence.
