教学目标
1. 学生能够在真实的语境中理解 who/that/which 作主语及宾语的 定语从句的意义和功能,观察、感知和理解,并归纳其结构。 2. 学生能够正确运用定语从句评价人物和事物。 3. 学生能够用定语从句完成对Jennifer评价其CD内容的复述并对自己最喜欢的事物从喜好、原因及感受等多个角度进行评价。 4. 学生能够培养其细心观察及归纳运用的能力。
教学重难点
教学重点: 1. 通过语境,引导学生感知、理解定语从句的意义和功能,归纳其结构。
2. 能正确理解含有定语从句的句子,并能用定语从句准确表 达思想。
教学难点: 1. 正确运用 who/that/which 引导的定语描述人和 事物。
2. 运用定语从句流利并得体地评价人物和事物。

Step1 Lead-in 1.Listen to a song named She and show the lyrics: She is the one that you never forget. She is the heaven-sent angel you met. She must be the reason why God made a girl. She is so pretty all over the world. 2.Review the song with the two questions: ①What is the song about A.The song is about the dreams that the singer has about her future. B.The song is about the singer’s memory of the past. C.The song is about a description of a girl. ②What do you think of the melody of this song A.peaceful B.cheerful(欢快的) C.nostalgic(怀旧的) D.slightly blue(忧伤的) 3.Show the sentences and lead in relative clauses: I like the music which is cheerful. I like music which I can sing along with. I like music which gives me something to think about. 1.Listen to the song and feel it. 2.Answer the questions to review the song. 3.Sense the relative clauses. 通过聆听含有定语从句的歌曲,一方面感受歌曲的旋律和歌词,另一方面引导学生初步感知用定语从句来评价歌曲,引出定语从句。
Step2 Learning and understanding activities 1.Show the sentences: I like the music that/which is cheerful. I like music (that/which) I can sing along with. I like music that/which gives me something to think about. She is the heaven-sent angle (who/that) you met. She is the one (that) you never forget. Guide students to observe, discuss and conclude the rules of relative clauses and the relative pronouns “who” “that” and “which”. 2.Summarize the usage of relative clauses: We use the relative clauses to describe the nouns or pronouns.We use clauses with “who” to describe a person. We use clauses with “which” to describe a thing. We use clauses with “that” to describe a thing or a person. We can delete who/which/that when they are used as the object in relative clauses. 1.Observe, discuss and share the rules. 2.Learn and understand the rules. 通过引导学生在例子中观察、讨论并分享他们的发现,帮助学生在语境中感知、理解定语从句的意义、结构及who/which/that在定语从句中充当主语和宾语以及分别指代人或物的用法。
Step3 Using and applying activities 1.Review the food/clothes/people: 4a: Choose a word from each column to make sentences. 2.Review a person: Use that/who/which to fill in the blanks and guess who she is. This is a woman who/that majored in music. She acted in Beijing for the first time in 1980 when she was still a student. She took part in many Spring Festival Galas which/that were loved by all Chinese people. She married our Chairman who/that we all knew. She is a famous woman who/that is loved by children. 1.Make sentences with the words given. 2.Fill in the blanks and guess who she is. 通过造句引导学生在语境中应用定语从句评价人物与事物,再在语篇中应用定语从句评价人物。
Step4 Transferring and creating activities 1.Review the CD: Guide students to retell Jennifer’s CD review and analyze it from three aspects. 2.Review your favorite movie/music/book: Report My favorite...is.... Because it’s the kind of the ... that/which... And I can also.... I like... which/that.... I don't like some of the ... who/that.... When I ..., .... 1.Retell Jennifer’s CD review with relative clauses. 2.Make a report to review their favorite things. 将定语从句迁移运用到复述Jennifer对CD的评价中,并以搭建脚手架的方式分析评价类语篇的结构,再创造性地评价自己喜欢的事物,让学生理解语言意义在语篇中的功能。
Step5 Homework 基础性作业: Finish the exercises. 实践型作业: Choose your favorite movie from the latest ones, write a review and make a poster to encourage people to watch. 拓展型作业: Ask your family members about their favorite music/movies/books, the reasons and the feelings. Write a report and share it. 学生能用本节课的语言储备完成课堂活动的延伸。
