Study of the Text 
What: This part is centred around the theme of adapting to junior high school life and the importance of learning and personal growth. It includes activities for students to reflect on their experiences, create posters about their first week, and present their thoughts. It aims to help students articulate their understanding of junior high school, express their feelings, and think critically about their new environment.
Why: By creating posters and presenting them, students are given the opportunity to reflect on their first week, identify challenges, and celebrate achievements. This part conveys the value of effort and perseverance, as indicated by phrases like “We should try our best” and “No pain, no gain”. It also emphasises the importance of learning and personal growth, suggesting that these are crucial for navigating the new challenges of junior high school.
How: This part is structured in a step-by-step instructional format, guiding students through the process of creating a poster and reflecting on their experiences. The language is simple and direct, facilitating clear communication of tasks. It also employs reflective questions and prompts, encouraging students to think deeply about their school life.

1.To know the basic elements of posters and the procedure of making posters. Step 1 Lead in Begin with a discussion about what a poster looks like and how to make one. Brainstorm the elements of a poster. Step 2 Before Making a Poster 1.Identify the preparations needed for making a poster, such as tools needed like A4 paper, colour pens and glue and ideas like the theme, content, layout, and pictures of the poster. 2.Discuss the first week at junior high in groups and decide on the main content through a group vote, choosing from studies, problems, activities, feelings and so on. Assess students' under-standing of posters and their ability to brain-storm relevant elements. Evaluate students' abil-ity to list necessary materials and to collab-oratively decide on the poster content.
Purpose To activate students' prior knowledge about posters and introduce the concept of creating one. To ensure students understand the preparatory steps and engage in collaborative planning for their posters.
2.To use the phrases and sentences we have learned to make a poster to share our feelings and experiences. Step 3 During Making a Poster Organise and create the poster with a set time limit, using the prepared materials and ideas. Step 4 After Making a Poster Present the poster to the class and participate in a voting session for the best posters and presentations. Include an evaluation component with criteria such as drawing, content, language, and presentation skills. Evaluate students' pos-ters and presentations based on the estab-lished criteria, includ-ing creativity, content completeness, language accuracy, and presen-tation skills.
Purpose To provide students with the opportunity to apply their planning and creativity in the actual poster-making process. To allow students to share their work, receive feedback, and appreciate the work of their peers.
3.To self-reflect. Step 5 Reflection Reflection on what students have learned about junior high school life and how the poster-making process contributed to this understanding. Through the observa-tion of students' self-reflection, grasp the mastery of their unit content.
Purpose To encourage students to think about the bigger picture of their learning experience and to integrate their reflections on junior high life.
Homework Tell your family and friends about your first week in junior high school in English with the help of posters after class.
