1.To use pronouns to talk about our first lesson. Step 1 Discover Grammar Students identify pronouns in given sentences from a reading passage, such as “I looked up at Ms Chen. My eyes met hers.” Step 2 Summarise the Rules Students summarise the grammar rules related to pronouns, distinguishing between subject pronouns, object pronouns, and nominal possessive pronouns. Assess students' ability to correctly identify subject pronouns, object pronouns, and nominal possessive pronouns within sentences. Evaluate students' summaries for accuracy and complete-ness in explaining pronoun rules.
2.To summarise the grammar rules. Step 3 Practise Students complete exercises that involve selecting the correct pronouns to fill in the blanks in sentences. Step 4 Exercise Students write a diary entry or a short paragraph about their first lesson using the correct pronouns. Assess students' ability to correctly use pronouns in sentences, ensuring they understand the context and grammatical role of each pronoun.
Purpose To introduce and help students recognise different types of pronouns in context. To enable students to understand and articulate the grammatical rules governing pronoun usage. To provide students with practical application of pronoun usage in various sentence structures.
