教学重难点
教材分析:本课时的话题内容是志愿服务。1a-1c部分旨在呈现不同的志愿服务的英语表达,为后面的教学重难点做好铺垫;2a-2d部分包含两个场景的志愿服务,分别是城市公园清理日及养老院活动。通过听、说练习此前所学的词汇表述,并体会动词短语的用法,渗透人文关怀和道德观念的培养。 学情分析:授课对象为八年级学生,学生已掌握基本的听说读写技能,能够表达某些简单的相关词汇,对本单元话题有话可说。但是学生对于表达志愿服务相关动词短语和句型还不够熟练、准确;学生参与志愿服务活动的具体实践较少。 教学重点:学生能够用情态动词could 表达建议,并正确使用有关提供帮助的相关表达。 教学难点:学生能够在对话中熟练使用提供帮助的句型。
整体设计思路
本节课是听说课,话题围绕志愿服务展开。所以本节课教师为学生创设了一个大情境:学校将要开展以“赠人玫瑰,手有余香”为主题的志愿服务活动,接下来的教学活动都是围绕此大情境展开。首先,通过观察学校学生做志愿者的图片及头脑风暴活动引领学生掌握不同种类的志愿活动,为学生输入有关志愿活动的词汇表述。其次,为学生创建两个具体的活动场景---城市公园清理日及养老院活动,引导学生通过反复听说练习掌握此前所学的词汇表述,体会动词短语的用法。最后,在志愿服务活动的尾声,教师带领学生探索、总结互相帮助的价值和意义,引领学生在日常生活中向他人伸出援助之手,为集体、为社会贡献自己的力量。
教学过程
Step 1: Lead-in Activity 1: Watch a video and lead into the school’s activity Show students a short video and ask questions: Who would you like to be, the rude driver or the kind lady Our school is organizing an activity called “ The rose’s in her hand, the flavor in mine.” What could we do to offer help 设计意图:通过观看视频和提出问题引入本节课的主题:志愿服务;同时也为学生创设真实活动情境:学校组织“赠人玫瑰,手有余香”的活动。 Activity 2: Describe pictures Show pictures about offering help at school and outside school, and ask students to describe them. 设计意图:通过描述图片,为学生补充有关志愿服务的相关表达。 Step 2: Brainstorm Activity 3: List other ways of offering help Ask students to have a brainstorm and think about other ways they could offer help. 设计意图:开展头脑风暴活动:引导学生从校外和校内两方面思考志愿服务还有哪些具体方式,并列举下来,为后续的听说活动做铺垫。 Step 3: Listen and speak Activity 4: Listen and number the ways Show some students’ ways to offer help and ask students to listen and number their ways. 设计意图:通过展示其他学生的做法,为学生补充更多有关提供帮助的动词短语表达。 Activity 5: Listen and speak Ask students to listen again and give advice to others. And have a pair work: One student asks “I’d like to, I hope to, I want to…” The other answers : “you could…” by using “you could”. 设计意图:通过给别人提供建议,为学生先输入有关提供帮助的句型,然后再通过同伴活动巩固句型和动词短语。 Step 4: Scene 1: Clean-Up Day Activity 6: Match pictures and expressions. Tell students that some students are planning a City Park Clean-Up Day. They want more people to help clean up the city parks. Here are some pictures and expressions, please match them. 设计意图:通过给出图片和表达,使学生识图并匹配,为接下来的听力做铺垫。 Activity 7: Listen, check and fill in blanks Ask students a question: How do the students tell people about it Please listen and check their ways; Ask students to listen again, know more information about it and fill in the blanks. 设计意图:通过听听力及核对答案,一方面积累更多志愿服务的相关表达,另一方面,引导学生再一次关注could表建议的句型结构。 Step 5: Scene 2: Old people’s home Activity 8: Listen and answer questions Tell students that we could not only help protect the environment. Helping the old is also a good idea. Then lead to the second scene: Old people’s home. Tom and Helen are talking about working in an old people’s home. What are the detailed information Show students some questions about the conversation in 2d, let students listen and answer questions. 设计意图:通过提出帮助老人的建议,引入本节课的第二个情境:养老院。通过听听力并回答问题who, when, what, why帮助学生了解对话主要内容。 Activity 9: Think about more ways to help the old Ask students a question: Can you help them to think about other ways to help old people And show more pictures to help students to answer the questions. 设计意图:通过回答问题,引导学生提出更多帮助老人的建议,增强学生乐于助人的意识,提升道德素养。 Activity 10: Role-play the conversation Ask the girls to be Helen and boys to be Tom and role-play the conversation. 设计意图:通过角色扮演,让学生在练习对话中再次熟悉对话内容,同时训练口语表达能力。 Activity 11: Retell Tom’s story Ask students to look at a chart with the detailed information of the conversation, and try to retell Tom’s story from the following ways: when, where, what and why. 设计意图:通过复述Tom在养老院做志愿服务的经历,使学生进一步掌握2d对话的内容,为接下来从when, where, what, why等方面编对话做铺垫。 Step 6: Think Activity 12: Summarize and think Lead students to summarize that when it comes to offering help, we could help to protect the environment and the old people, and ask students a question: Who else can we offer help After answering this question, then go on asking the second question : Besides who, what else can we talk about 设计意图:通过连续发问,引起学生深度思考,同时也为接下来编对话做铺垫。 Step 7: Show your plans Activity 13: Make conversations and show plans Ask students to make conversations with their partners and pay attention to the content, the sentence and try to use the phrases we learned today. Then give students an example in the form of a short video. 设计意图:通过观看视频范例,学生和同伴讨论帮助他人的计划,完成对话。教师通过学生的对话内容,引导学生只有把语言付诸于行动,才是本次“赠人玫瑰,手有余香”活动举办的真正意义。 Step 8: Homework Step 9: Self-assessment
