教学目标 1.能听、说、认读单词amazing，animals，giraffe，tall, fast, big, small等;能理解Start to read和Reading time板块的内容；能独立完成Start to read以及Project板块的相关练习；能运用所学语言知识描述动物的特征。（语言能力） 2.通过阅读训练了解不同动物的特征，能够区分宠物和野生动物。（文化意识） 3.能通过观察图片进行预测，理解阅读材料。（思维品质） 4.能积极参与课堂活动，大胆表达。（学习能力）
教学重点 掌握形容词tall, fast, big,和small；能在实际情景中运用所学语言知识描述动物的特征。
教学难点 能理解Start to read和Reading time板块的内容。

Step 3 Consolidation&Extension 适时进行情感教育，培养学生核心素养。
Reading time PPT呈现四种鱼类图片，学生阅读故事，了解大意，并找出课本插图中出现的动物，将图片与对应单词连线。 T: Look at the pictures. These are four animals in the sea. Do you know their names Now let’s read the story then match. Ss: … 教师与学生一起核对答案，并利用图片教授新单词dolphins，whale sharks，squids和sea lions，然后组织学生讨论这些动物和海豚的区别，加深对这些动物的认识。 Listen and fill in the blanks:教师播放音频，学生听音频回答whale sharks, squids和sea lions的特征，用句型“The ____ are ____.”来表达。 教师提问：“What are dolphins like What can the dolphins do ”,引导学生思考并总结海豚的特征。 Ss: The dolphins are big and fast. Step 4 Summary&Homework
