(Show the photos of Hua Luogeng, Confucius, Marie Curie, Charlie Chaplin, and Albert Einstein.) ② Ask a question: What do these people have in common Make a summary. They are talented, smart and successful. They are geniuses. (设计意图:通过图片激发学生原有认知,引起学生兴趣;进而通过找出以上人物的共同性,引出本课课文标题——Two geniuses。) Step 2 Pre-reading ① Look at the title, the pictures, and the introduction to the story on page 19. Then answer the questions below. (1). Who are probably the two geniuses a. Einstein and his driver b. Einstein and his son (2). What kind of story is it a. A funny story b. A sad story (3). What is the man doing in the second picture (4). Who is driving the car in the first picture Who is driving the car in the third picture 设计意图:问题1、2通过观察标题、插图以及引言,引导学生对文章内容进行预测. 问题3、4通过观察插图,引发学生思考,为速读环节带着问题快速读故事做铺垫。 Step 3 Fast reading ① Read the story fast and think about the questions,then choose the right answer. Why did they change their seats Why was the driver giving a lecture instead of Einstein ② Help students understand the setting and the conflict of the story. 设计意图:学生通过略读和选择,厘清故事大意。 教师通过提取正确选项中的信息,帮助学生理解故事背景和故事冲突,从而引出故事五要素。 Step 4 Careful reading ① Explain the five elements of a story. (Setting, conflict, plot, character, theme) ② Analyze the plot of the story Explain the five parts of the plot. (opening, rising action, turning point, falling action, end) Match the sentences with the parts of the plot. 设计意图:在分析情节环节,先帮助学生理解情节构成五部分,进而引导学生将语句与情节五部分联线,进一步理解故事情节。最后通过表格对学生理解进行检测。 ③ Analyze the characters of the story Read the sentences and find out the personalities of the characters. Check understanding:Choose the most possible words said by Einstein and Hans. 设计意图:通过人物语言提取信息,总结人物性格;设计检测环节,根据人物特征选出人物可能说出的话,加深对故事人物性格的理解。 ④ Analyze the theme of the story. Make a comparison about the characters’ personalities. (Before reading the story and after reading the story). Ask a question: What does the story want to tell us Then conclude the theme of the story. 设计意图: 通过读前读后,学生对于人物性格特点的对比,总结出故事深层主题:每个人都有多面性。 Step 5 Post-reading 1. Help Hans finish his writing. 2. Watch a video and think about the questions: Are there any people around you who did great things Who are they What did they do 设计意图:通过帮助Hans 完成写作,将输入转化为输出。每个人都有多面性,意味着普通人也可以做伟大的事情。进而观看视频,了解暑期暴雨中参与救援支援的普通人们,他们虽平凡但却做着伟大的事情。一方有难,八方支援,这是中国人的精神。通过观看视频引发思考,在课堂教学中培养学生的民族自豪感。 Step 6 Make a summary Step 7 Homework Finish the exercises.
