学情分析
本课的授课对象是高一年级平行班学生,英语基础较好,对视听课积极性较高。在前几个板块的学习中,学生通过探讨常见的道德困境,人生抉择、如何传递爱心,如何面对问题等话题,深化了对“道德和美德”的理解和认识。目前学生已掌握获取细节信息的能力,部分学生能流利和自信地用英语表达观点,但多数学生在整合信息、分析论证观点和批判性评价的能力较为欠缺。学生对孔子有一定的话题熟悉度,但已知信息是碎片化的,背景信息缺少,一定程度增加了课程的难度。
教学目标
By the end of this lesson, the students will be able to: 1. accumulate words and expressions related to “Morals and Virtues”, and use them to introduce Confucius and his teachings; Confucius, Confucianism, teachings, philosophy, benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, fidelity, virtue, value, quote, represent identify…as, moral principle 2. develop predicting, note-taking skills to obtain basic information about Confucius and Ren from the video, and use the mind map to summarize Confucius' contributions; 3. explain the meaning and importance of ren, provide advice on how to practice ren in real life, and establish correct values; 4. distinguish five virtues and critically talk about their positive impact on individual and society. 本节课结束后,学生能够: 积累“道德和美德”主题相关的词汇和表达,学会用英文介绍孔子及其思想主张; Confucius, Confucianism,teachings,benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, fidelity, fairness, value, quote identify/explain...as,moral principle, be an important part of, change one’s lives 2.运用预测和做笔记技能获取视频中关于“孔子和仁”的基本信息,借助思维导图梳理和概括孔子的主要思想和成就; 3.学习和理解儒家“仁义礼智信”思想,提炼和阐释“仁”的思想内涵和重要影响,结合个人经验探讨“仁”在生活中的实践,树立正确的价值观念; 4.辨别什么是“仁义礼智信”,批判性地评价“仁义礼智信”思想对个人和社会的重要影响。
教学重难点
教学重点: 引导学生理解和梳理视频信息,提炼和概括孔子的主要思想和成就,特别是阐释“仁”的内涵和“仁”在生活中的实践。 教学难点: 在了解“仁义礼智信”思想内涵的基础上,引导学生联系个人生活,举例分析和评价“仁义礼智信”思想对个人、社会的重要影响,达到对儒家思想的深层理解。
教学过程
Step 1 Lead in Activity 1 Match the words with the pictures. Q1:What do the pictures show Why are they important Q2: What is Confucianism Q3:What do you know about Confucius And what do you expect to know about him 设计意图:引导学生通过图片配对的形式回顾世界文化遗产——曲阜三孔,展示孔庙、孔府、孔林的图片激活学生的已知,呈现孔子学院的图片彰显孔子和儒家思想对中国乃至世界的重要性和深远影响。接着教师连续追问两个问题“什么是儒家思想”、“孔子知多少”对孔子以及儒家思想进行背景知识介绍,增加话题熟悉度,降低词汇理解障碍,为进一步探究孔子的主要思想奠定语言和文化基础。 Step 2 Before watching Activity 2 Make Predictions Predict the content by reading title and text with illustration. Confucius’ philosophy has had a deep impact on Chinese civilization and world culture throughout the centuries. Please create a video blog titled “Confucius in My Heart” to introduce Confucius and his teachings to international friends. You can choose from the following topics for your video: (1) The Life and Legacy of Confucius: Use a brief animated timeline to showcase key events in Confucius’ life, such as his birth in 551 BCE and his contributions to education and moral teachings, and accompany it with ancient music or narration. The Five Virtues: Define and explain each virtue, providing examples to make them relatable. Emphasize how these virtues help individuals cultivate themselves and contribute to society. Confucius’ Famous Quotes: Select your favorite quote from the Analects and share examples to illustrate how this rule encourages empathy, kindness, and ethical behavior towards others.
