At the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1.Know the procedure of creating a poster. 2.Use the related expressions to make a research report. 3.Assess your posters and others’ posters according to the checklist. 4.Reflect on your behaviors and the changes.
教学重难点
教学重点: To guide students to analyze the basic components of a poster and summarize its key information. To develop students’ ability to write a research report based on the basic elements. 教学难点: To instruct students to evaluate and revise their posters in terms of the design and content . To encourage students to follow the instructions to write a research report. To extend and deepen students’ awareness of agricultural production and call for their actions to cherish food.

ProceduresTeaching ActivitiesPurposeLead-in Step 1 Greet students and lead them to talk about the 31st Summer World University Games . Q:Why did the organizing committee attach great significance to the dishes Q:Is it a good way/right way to do that through mukbang Q: Do you know more ways to carry forward Chinese food and food culture To introduce the topic and arouse Ss’ interest.Learning and Understanding --- How to create a poster step by stepStep 2Brainstorm favorite dishes.Share T’s the top five favorite dishes and invite ss to brainstorm a list of their own. List the ingredients of one favorite dish.Ss have a small discussion and choose one dish from the list that everyone in the group likes, and find a list of its ingredients from the reference book. Ask ss to work in pairs to analyze the components of a poster. Q:We all have a piece of paper, so where to start Invite some students who are good at designing or drawing pictures to share some advice. And summarize the three steps for the designing of a poster. Step 1: Start with foundation and layout; decide on the color scheme Step 2: Add images and unify elements of a poster Step 3: Balance between texts and pictures.To guide and help Ss have a thorough understanding of the procedure of creating a poster step by step. By the comprehensive learning, Ss can master their ability to create a poster, which can arouse their eagerness to create their own poster. Learning and Understanding --- How to make a research report Step 3Guide students to read the example given in material (activity 4) carefully and fill in the blanks. 1.About________days from sowing to harvesting 2. 3). Match each element with its description. From specific information for each element to the some related expressions ,students will be guided to explore each element of a research report by finishing simple tasks,which would relieve their stress and nervousness to make a report.Also, this step will strengthen their ability to cooperate with group members and develop their critical thinking skills.Applying and Creating Step 4Encourage ss to apply what they have learnt and some useful expressions to design a poster and a research report. Use some related expressions to structure their language in a report. 2.And remind them to check their design and report according to the checklist.To provide ss with an opportunity to apply what they have learnt into practical use.Presenting and AssessingStep 5Demonstrate T’s poster, ask ss to give their comments according to the checklist. 2).Choose one representative in one group to display their poster and state their work according to the logical order of their research report. Other students can give their comments based on the checklist,students can also write down some questions for later to exchange ideas or discuss together. To improve Ss’ assessment ability and help them enhance what they have learned through this lesson, which can also provide a platform for Ss to share and learn mutually.Revising and ReflectingStep 6Ask ss to revise your posters based on others’ evaluation; Share my inspiration :“Every single grain on your plate is the result of hard work.” Q: What does this line mean to you Q: Do you think this project is meaningful Why or why not Q: Do you feel motivated to make some changes In what ways To extend and deepen students’ awareness of agricultural production and call for their actions to cherish food.课时作业设计Homework: 1.Put up your posters and reports on the wall after class; 2.Walk around to appreciate others’ work and use stickers to give comment (two stars & one wish) on at least 3 of them; 3.Revise your own posters/reports based on others’ comment.
