Period 3 Section B (1a–1d)
【教学内容】
运用正确的问候方式来开始对话。

重点：日常交流中的问候语和自我介绍的表达方式。
难点：正确使用不同的问候语，并能根据上下文进行适当的回应。
【教学过程】
Step 1 Lead– in
1. Greet the students with“ Good morning” or“ Hello” and ask them how they are.
2. Have a brief discussion about how students greet each other in their daily lives.
Step 2 Work on la
1. Write the expressions listed in 1a on the board: “ Hello!” “ Good morning.” “ How are you ”“ Nice to meet you.”“ What's your name ” and“ Goodbye”.
2. Explain to students that these are common ways to start a conversation in English. Ask them if they are familiar with any of these expressions.
3. Model the correct pronunciation of each expression, emphasizing the stress and intonation.
4. Ask students to repeat after you, first individually and then in unison.
5. Explain the meaning and appropriate usage of each expression. For example, “ Hello” is a general greeting,“ Good morning” is used in the morning,“ How are you ” is a way to ask about someone's well- being, etc.
6. Look at the expressions in la and ask students to tick the ones they know.
7. Ask students to read the expressions aloud together and individually.
Step 3 Work on 1b
1. Look at the pictures in 1b. Talk about them and predict what they may say.
2. Play the audio of Conversation 1 and ask students to underline how people greet each other.
3. Have students read the conversation silently, then aloud in pairs.
4. Repeat the same process with Conversation 2.
5. Explain new words and expressions in the conversations.
Step 4 Work on 1c
1. Ask students to read the conversations in 1b again and fill in the blanks with the correct responses in the box for 1c.
2. Discuss the responses and underline them in the conversations on the board.
3. Check the answers.
(1) A: How are you B: I'm fine, thank you.
(2) A: May I have your name B: My name is Emma Miller.
(3) A: Nice to meet you. B: Nice to meet you too.
(4) A: How do you spell your name B: E-M-M-A, Emma. M-I-L-L-E-R, Miller.
Step 5 Work on 1d
1. Complete the conversations in 1d with students, filling in the blanks together.
2. Divide the class into pairs and have them role- play the conversations with a partner. Encourage students to use their own names and add more lines to make the conversations more personal.
3. Ask several pairs to act out their conversations in class.
Step 6 Summary and Homework
Summarize the key points of the lesson and ask students to repeat the expressions.
Assign homework: Ask students to write a short dialogue with a friend, using the greetings and opening lines learned in class.
