第六、七课时 Integration
◆内容分析
本板块围绕单元主题,以课后活动为板块话题。本板块首先呈现阳光中学社团 信息表格,引导学生关注表格类非连续性文本的特征;接着设置以社团活动为话题 的听力语篇,指导学生获取社团名称、活动时间、活动内容等信息;随后呈现两名 同学讨论兴趣爱好及社团活动的对话语篇,组织学生就参与校园社团这一话题展开 讨论;最后以Sandy填写的关于个人兴趣爱好的问卷和介绍个人爱好的文本作为范 例,指导学生填写问卷并完成介绍自己兴趣爱好的文章,鼓励学生以爱好为引领规 划课余活动、选择行为榜样、树立个人理想。
◆教学目标
通过本板块学习,学生能够:
1 感知和了解表格类文本的基本特征,并从介绍学校社团活动的表格中获取社 团名称、成员人数、活动时间等关键信息;
2在听力活动中获取学校社团名称、活动时间、活动内容及Millie感兴趣的社 团活动等关键信息;
模仿对话,运用与兴趣爱好相关的表达讨论彼此的爱好和感兴趣的社团,并 阐释原因;
在写作活动中综合运用本单元词汇知识和语篇结构知识,完成介绍自己兴趣 爱好的文章,主动以爱好为引领规划课余活动、选择行为榜样、树立个人理想。
◆教学建议
(一)读
Have students answer the following questions.
What do you like to do after school
Possible answer
I like to ... with my friends. It makes/helps me ...
Are you in an after-school club Is it interesting
Possible answer
Yes. I join the ... Club. It is interesting to ...
Have students read the tip in A on page 26 and summarize how to get the general idea of a table.
Possible answer
When reading a table, we can look at the headings first to get a general idea.
Have students read the table about the after-school clubs at Sunshine Middle School in A on page 26. Then have students answer the following question.
What kind of information can you get from the table
Possible answer
From the table, we can learn about the names of the clubs, the number of members in each club and the time of these club activities.
Have students read the table again and answer the questions in A on page 26.
Answer
There is the Ping-pong Club, the Basketball Club, the Volleyball Club, the Football Club and the Swimming Club at Sunshine Middle School.
They can join at most two clubs because there are club activities only at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday and 4:40 p.m. on Friday.

Have students read the notes in B and answer the following question. What kind of information is missing in Millie's notes
Possible answer
How often the clubs meet, which club Millie wants to join and what students do in the clubs.
Have students predict the answers to B on page 26 according to the table in A.
Have students finish B on page 26.
(Optional: Remind students to write part of the word instead of the whole word if there is not enough time.)

Have students listen to Daniel and Sandy's conversation about their hobbies in C on page 27 and answer the following questions.

Answer
Daniel plans to join the Robot Club and Sandy plans to join the Painting Club.
Why do they plan to join these clubs
Answer
Because Daniel likes science and he thinks it's going to be a lot of fun.
Sandy likes painting and it makes her feel happy.
Have students read the conversation along with the recording and then read in different roles.
Have students read the tip in C on page 27 and summarize the function of using “Sounds nice!” and “Sure.” in a conversation.
Possible answer
Using “Sounds nice!” and “Sure.” can show your interest, support or agreement and makes the person you are talking to more willing to listen to you. It also makes the conversation more pleasant.
Have students work in pairs and discuss their hobbies using the conversation in C on page 27 as a model.

A: Sounds nice! Do you plan to join the Club
B: Yes, of course. What about you

Have students finish D1 on page 27.

Have students read the tip in D2 on page 28 and summarize when to capitalize the first letter of a word.
Possible answer
We capitalize the first letter of the first word in a sentence.
Have students read Sandy's article in D2 on page 28 and match the paragraphs with their content.
Have students write an article about their hobbies. They can refer to D2 and “Useful expressions” on page 28 to guide their writing in terms of structure, content and expressions.
Have students check their writing after they finish and exchange drafts with their partners for review.
Have students share their article in class and evaluate which one is the best.

为了完成本单元学习的最终任务——用书面形式介绍自己的兴趣爱好,本单元 教材从不同维度设计教学内容:首先借助图文导入“新同学的兴趣爱好”的话题, 鼓励学生主动介绍自己的兴趣爱好,增进对新同学的了解,并积累描述兴趣爱好的 词汇和表达,引导学生从课本过渡到与身边的同学交流朋友和家人的兴趣爱好;接 着借助单元主语篇,从爱好的成因、从事的活动及未来梦想等多方面有序介绍他人 的兴趣爱好;然后引导学生正确使用行为动词的一般现在时与新同学谈论自己和他 人的兴趣爱好;最后借助关于阳光中学社团信息的表格、Millie和老师讨论学校社 团活动的听力语篇、 Daniel 和 Sandy 讨论彼此的兴趣爱好和感兴趣的社团的对话 语篇、Sandy填写的兴趣爱好问卷和介绍个人兴趣爱好的短文,通过读、听、说、 写不同技能的训练,引导学生不断巩固与单元主题相关的核心知识,为学生提供了 大量的语言输入和技能训练的机会。
本板块的教学先指导学生阅读关于阳光中学社团信息表格类非连续性文本,并 精听相关话题的对话,获取和提炼描述兴趣爱好和相关社团活动的词汇和语言表达; 接着组织学生借助相关词汇和语言表达讨论彼此的兴趣爱好和感兴趣的社团,并阐 释原因;最后引导学生结合个人兴趣爱好、参与的相关课后活动、相关领域的榜样 人物和未来职业理想完成问卷,然后根据问卷结果,模仿范文完成介绍自己兴趣爱 好的文章,并基于明确的评价标准在自评和互评的过程中优化创作。本板块涉及自 主学习和探究学习等多种学习形式,旨在培养学生的逻辑思维和创新思维,鼓励其 大胆展示自己的兴趣爱好,从而达到锻炼合作、互助、欣赏、评价等能力的目的。
