V. Teaching Procedure
Step 1: Warming up (5 minutes)
Greet the students and review the letters A-H learned in the previous section. Play a simple alphabet song to create an active atmosphere.
Step 2: Presentation (15 minutes)
1. Show the flashcards of the letters I-R one by one, teach the students their pronunciations and writing strokes. Let the students imitate and practice.
2. Present the new words through pictures and real objects, such as a ruler, a pen, an orange, etc. Teach the students how to read and spell these words.
3. Introduce the sentence pattern "What's this in English It's a/an..." and have some simple dialogues with the students.
Step 3: Practice (15 minutes)
1. Group work: Students work in pairs to practice the dialogues using the new words and sentence patterns.
2. Game: "Quick Response". Show some pictures or objects randomly, and ask students to answer quickly using the learned expressions.
Step 4: Production (10 minutes)
Ask students to look around the classroom and make conversations about the objects they see. Encourage them to use the target language.
Step 5: Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the letters, words, and sentence patterns.
2. Assign homework: Ask students to write the letters I-R five times each and make three dialogues using the learned content.
