Unit4 Fun in the Sun
Lesson 2 Function and Pronunciation
I. Material analysis
Function内容解读：本部分为“听”的活动，通过听力对话的形式将学生带入“乐享运动”的情境中。内容以王俊峰和康康打电话的情境展开，讨论了各自喜欢的运动。学生听两遍音频，从不同角度了解音频内容，通过回答问题、信息填空等方式感知和理解音频大意和信息，牢固掌握本单元功能句和基本单词。本部分共分4个活动。
Pronunciation内容解读：本部分为语音知识的学习，包括元音字母o, u和辅音字母及字母组合l, m, n, ng的读音规则，以及句子的升降调。学生需要通过听音感知读音，跟读练习发音，进而归纳读音规则，做到见词能读。另外，学生还需要通过模仿感知语调在陈述句和疑问句中的变化，在口头表达中做到语调自然、流畅。本部分共分为4个活动。
II. Teaching aims
通过本课的学习，学生能够：
1. 正确朗读单词，辨识字母o, u，l, m, n及字母组合ng的发音，归纳其读音规则，做到见词能读；
2. 在提出疑问时正确使用升降调；
3. 获取、梳理对话人物想参加的运动俱乐部；
4. 创编对话，谈论想参加的运动俱乐部，并电话邀约同伴共同参加。
III. Teaching procedures
课时教学内容概述
本课时是听力和语音课。 Function部分以“听”的活动为主，为理解性技能。学生通过听对话，理解对话内容和意义，巩固和掌握如何描述自己擅长和不擅长的运动，这是本单元功能句的呈现部分。Activity 1从讨论图片中的球类运动展开，帮助学生了解更多的运动形式。Activity 2 、Activity 3为“听”的活动，Activity 2要求学生通过听对话，回答问题，了解对话中康康想要参加的俱乐部，在回答问题的同时了解对话大意。Activity 3要求学生再听一遍音频，在巩固表达的同时，总结对话大意，更好地理解音频内容，此为学习理解类活动。Activity 4为小组活动，学生将听力学习过程中掌握的功能句和频度副词运用到实际情境中，结合自身情况，编创对话，并向小组成员描述想参加的俱乐部及其原因。此为迁移创新类活动。 Pronunciation部分为本单元的语音学习。Activity 1要求学生通过听录音，学习文本中带颜色字母的发音。Activity 2要求学生听音频，学习字母及字母组合o, u, l, m, n, ng的发音规则。Activity 3要求学生通过音频辨别每一组单词中不同字母的发音。Activity 4学生听音频跟读句子，并注意升降调在句子中的使用规律。
教学步骤 学习活动 效果评价
Step 1 Lead-in & Viewing Look at the pictures on Page 58 and answer the following questions： What ball game is it When and where do you play it 观察学生的表现，根据学生说出的具体单词，了解其有关球类活动的词汇储备。
设计意图：利用图片导入本节课的教学情境，激活已有知识，为后续的语言学习做好铺垫。
Step 2 Listening & Reading 1. Before listening to the conversation, read the question. 2. Listen to the conversation and answer the question in activity 2. 3. Listen again and complete the summary. Then check the answers. 根据学生表现，评判学生抓取关键信息的能力。
设计意图：通过听对话，引导学生获取并梳理音频中对话人物想参加的运动俱乐部信息，通过朗读，提取表达邀约的语言。
Step 3 Sharing & Performing 1. Work in groups. Ask and answer: Do you want to join the football club/... If not, Which sports club do you want to join 2. Act out the conversation. 观察小组活动中学生表现，根据需要给出必要指导和反馈。
设计意图：在迁移创新的语境中，通过小组活动和角色扮演，创编对话，学以致用，创建积极参加体育运动的氛围。
Step 4 Pronunciation 1. Read the text in Activity 1 individually. Pay attention to the pronunciation of the colored letters. 2. Listen and repeat. 3. Read the text together. 4. Listen and repeat the sounds and words in Activity 2 aloud. 5. Read aloud and sum up the pronunciation rules of the letters: o, u, l, m, n, ng. 6. Read the new words aloud according to the pronunciation rules. 7. Listen to the words in Activity 3 and circle the word with a different sound of the colored letters in each group. Check the answers. 8. Spell out the words they hear. 9. Listen to the sentences in Activity 4 and imitate. Pay attention to the rising tones and the falling tones. 10. Read more sentences to practice the rising tones and the falling tones. 观察学生在朗读、拼写单词和朗读句子等活动中的表现，判断其对读音规则的掌握情况，以及在朗读句子时的升降调意识。
设计意图：通过听、跟读、朗读单词、拼写单词等活动，培养学生的拼读能力；朗读句子，培养学生在朗读中的升降调意识。
Step 5 Summary & Homework 1. Summarize the content students learned in this class. 2. Show the students the homework for the class. 帮助并引导学生总结本节课所学内容，查漏补缺，发现问题，及时给予帮助。
设计意图：通过听、跟读、朗读单词、拼写单词等活动，培养拼读能力；朗读句子，培养学生在朗读中的升降调意识。
