I. Teaching Objectives 1. Language knowledge objectives Master the vocabulary: good, morning, hi, hello, afternoon, evening. Learn the sentence patterns for greeting people: Hello! / Hi! Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! 2. Language skill objectives Be able to pronounce and use the vocabulary and sentence patterns for greeting people accurately. Be able to communicate with others by using the learned greeting ways in real situations. 3. Emotional attitude objectives Cultivate students' interest and enthusiasm in learning English. Guide students to greet people in English actively in daily life and improve their communication skills.
II. Teaching Key and Difficult Points 1. Key points Master the vocabulary and sentence patterns for greeting people. Be able to pronounce and use these vocabulary and sentence patterns correctly. 2. Difficult points Distinguish the greeting ways in different time periods. Use the learned greeting ways naturally in real situations.
III. Teaching Methods 1. Situational teaching method: Create real situations to let students learn and use English in situations. 2. Audio-lingual teaching method: Focus on listening and speaking to let students master language knowledge and skills through listening and speaking. 3. IV. Teaching Procedure 1. Lead-in Play an English song "Hello" to arouse students' interest and introduce the theme of this unit - greeting people. The teacher greets students in English: Hello! / Hi! Good morning! Guide students to respond in English. 2. Presentation of new words Show pictures or real objects to teach new vocabulary: good, morning, hi, hello, afternoon, evening. Let students listen and number the pictures in the order they hear. Check the answers and play the recording again. Let students repeat. Let students read the dialogue in Section A 2d in pairs and try to act it out. 7. Summary Review what students have learned in this class, including vocabulary and sentence patterns. Emphasize the differences in greeting ways in different time periods. 8. Homework Let students greet their family members, friends or classmates in English after class. Recite the dialogues in Section A 1a and 2d.
