Warm-up 3’ T shows Ss the following sentences and Ss tell the meaning of them. I stood there, watching her sorting rubbish. But all are right at home here, getting everything they need from the prairie. 回顾本单元内已读过的两个现在分词作状语的句子,引导学生理解其含义,引出背景知识。 尝试说出两个句子的含义。
Presentation 16’ 1. Ss listen to the recording of the above two sentences. Ss discuss in pairs and try to tell the meaning and part of speech of the two present participles. T helps Ss get the answer and tells Ss that the underlined parts are called present participles which function as the adverbials in the sentences. 通过听上述两个句子的录音或教师朗读及小组讨论,自主总结现在分词在句中的作用和含义。 尝试说出现在分词在句中起到说明主语动作的作用,担当了句子的状语成分,正确说出状语部分的含义。
T asks Ss to observe the two present participles and tell the similarity in structure. T elicits from Ss that present participles end with the "ing" suffix and then introduces their negative form. T shows more examples of present participles to demonstrate the rules of adding the "-ing" suffix to verbs. 引导学生观察并自主总结现在分词的结构。 自主总结出现在分词是由动词在其词尾加上ing后缀构成,并尝试说出动词变为现在分词的构成规律。
T shows five more sentences together with the two in the second step, which show the main adverbial functions of present participles. Ss work in pairs to circle the present participles, underline the adverbials, and tell their meanings. Ss work in groups to inductively state the functions and placement of present participles in sentences. T asks Ss to observe the example sentences again to find out the agents of the actions of the present participles. T checks the answers and elicits from Ss that the agents of the actions of the present participles are often the subjects of the sentences. T adds that the actions of the present participles can sometimes have their own agents, different from the subjects and then gives examples to help illustrate. T shows more example sentences and asks Ss to find out the agents of the actions of the present participles to check their understanding. 引导学生关注现在分词作状语时其逻辑主语与句子主语一致性的现象,适当拓展对逻辑主语的讲解,进而帮助学生进一步理解、分析现在分词的逻辑主语这一难点,为后续语言练习作铺垫。 能正确说出例句中现在分词的行为主体,归纳出现在分词行为主体与句子主语一致的现象,明确现在分词逻辑主语的概念。
Practice 16’ 1. T shows example sentences containing adverbial present participles. Ss translate the sentences and tell the functions of meanings of the present participles. T checks Ss' answers. 训练学生辨别现在分词作状语现象的能力以及分析现在分词含义及语义功能的能力。 正确找出作状语的现在分词,说出状语部分的含义以及现在分词的语义功能。
2. Ss complete the sentences on the textbook with the correct form of the words in brackets. Ss give the answers and T checks the answers and explains if necessary. 通过教材提供的控制型练习侧重训练语言的准确度,强化学生对现在分词作状语的理解,训练学生正确使用现在分词作状语的能力。 根据上下文语境正确使用现在分词补全句子。
Consolidation 9’ 1. T leads Ss to go through the board writing to conclude the form, adverbial functions and placement of present participles. Ss raise their questions and then keep down the board writing on their notebook. 借助板书小结现在分词作状语的基本知识,帮助学生及时内化知识,解答疑惑,同时训练学生记笔记策略。 总结现在分词构成、成分、位置及语义功能;能够及时将板书内容记录在笔记中。
2. T shows pictures of environmental protection measures and activities. Ss use sentences with adverbial present participles to describe them. 利用环保措施及活动的图片调动学生运用语言的积极性,从机械训练过渡到语境交际,实现语言的非控制性输出。 学生根据图片创设的情景,正确运用状语性现在分词进行图片描述。
Homework 1’ 1. Find out more examples of adverbial present participles in this unit and write them down with their meanings in your notebook. 2.
