T asks Ss the question from the first paragraph of the text: Why don't people respond to your emails Ss give their opinions and T encourages Ss to tell what an employee should pay attention to when writing a workplace email. 激发阅读兴趣,激活背景词汇和礼仪知识。 结合自身写邮件的经历,说出员工撰写职场邮件时应注意的要点。2. T lists Ss' answers on the board and then asks Ss to read the text to find the answer to the T's question as well as suggestions for writing a workplace email. 明确阅读目标。 明确阅读后需要回答的问题。While-reading15’ 1. Ss skim the text to find out the answer to the T's question. T leads Ss to focus on the first paragraph to find out the main idea of the text, which explains the question. T checks the answers. 借助语篇首段所提出的问题检查学生是否对语篇大意有了初步的把握,明确语篇主题。 能从首段中找出语篇大意并借此回答教师所提问题。2. T asks Ss to tell the rules of email etiquette from the text. T reminds Ss of the four topic sentences from the box in Activity Two. 引导学生通过各段落主题句把握语篇大意和要点。 能说出活动二方框中的候选主题句便是本语篇重点阐述的撰写职场邮件的礼仪规则。3. Ss read paragraphs 2 to 5 and underline the high-frequency words, keywords and expressions in each paragraph which reveal the gist of the paragraph. T draws Ss’ attention to words and expressions such as simply, quickly, what your email is about, bcc and link. 再次阅读语篇挖空部分为匹配主题句与段落做好准备;引导学生利用重复词、高频词及关键词来把握段落大意及要点,培养学生基本的信息提取能力。 正确划出反映段落大意的重复词或高频词,如第二段中的concisely、simply 和quickly,第四段中的bcc,第五段中的link以及第二段中的关键表达what your email is about。4. Ss read the four topic sentences from the box in Activity Two and circle the keywords which show the main ideas of the sentences. T checks and helps circle the keywords in each topic sentence. Based on the keyword matching in the fourth step, Ss match three topic sentences from the box in Activity Two with paragraphs 2 to 5. Ss guess their meanings from the context. If needed, T shows the pictures of email texts to help Ss get their meanings. T shows the example email in Activity Three and Ss explain the meanings of sender, recipient, subject, cc/bcc and attachment. T checks the answers. 检查学生对电邮格式的理解和掌握程度。 正确说出电邮基本格式及其内容。2. Ss read the example email in groups for several times to check whether the email violates the four rules of email etiquette. If so, Ss circle the mistake and make notes to show which rule(s) it violates. 小组合作降低识错难度并提高识错率,教师也可以检查学生是否能依照电邮礼仪规则来判断内容是否符合礼仪规范。 学生通过小组合作并依照四条电邮礼仪规范逐一排查并识别邮件中的礼仪错误。3. Groups of Ss list all the mistakes they find and the rules violated. Ss discuss in groups and put forward such ways to correct the mistakes as shown in the box below the example email in Activity Three. 学以致用是此步核心:不仅强化学生对电邮礼仪规则的理解,更能提升学生运用规则解决实际问题的能力,检验学生是否能运用电邮礼仪规则来更改电邮中的礼仪错误。 学生针对每一个错误,依照其违反的礼仪规则提出改正方法。4. Each group reports the mistakes they find and ways to correct them in front of the class. T checks the answers and gives comments on Ss. 激发学生成就感,帮助学生强化记忆四项电邮礼仪规则,达到学以致用的效果,同时也进一步提升学生展示、讲解的能力。 有条理地汇报展示小组所发现的错误,并针对每一个错误,依照其违反的礼仪规则提出改正方法。Homework1’ List the four rules of email etiquette in the notebook and read the text and send the audio clip to the learning platform.
