Unit 2　We're family!
第一课时　Section A 1a—3
This lesson aims to assist students in comprehending and retaining family relationships through matching activities.Additionally，it focuses on refining students' pronunciation skills，particularly the distinction between long and short vowels and the accurate placement of word stress.And the lesson helps master the pronunciation of s in the third person singular verb forms and 's in possessive form of nouns.The lesson commences with Section A 1a—1d，introducing vocabulary related to family members and their relationships.

1．Master English vocabulary pertaining to family members(e.g.，grandmother，aunt，uncle，cousin).
2．Comprehend and accurately describe family relationships.
3．Accurately distinguish between the pronunciation of long vowels(e.g.，/ɑ /，/ /) and short vowels(e.g./ /，/ /).
4．Correctly apply word stress in sentences.
5．Master the pronunciation of the third person singular verb form and the possessive case of a noun.

Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意)
T：Good morning，everyone！Today we are going to embark on a new journey and learn Unit 2.Before we dive in，let's take a look at the title and the picture on the board.What can you see in the picture
Ss：A family photo.
T：That's right！Now，let's guess what we're going to learn in this unit.What do you think we'll be talking about
Ss：Maybe we'll learn about families.
T：Excellent！You're right.We're going to learn something about the introduction of our family.Now，let's share some thoughts on these three questions I've prepared：

Can you describe your family briefly
Who are the most important members in your family and why
设计意图：通过展示图片和标题，激发学生的兴趣和好奇心，为新课的引入做铺垫。通过提问，引导学生思考家庭的意义，为后续的学习内容做情感上的准备。
Activity 2 Presentation(获取与梳理)

T：Now，let's move on to Section A，and do you know how to call your family members in English
Ss：Yes，we do.
T：Great！Let's work on 1a together.We're going to match the definitions with members of the family.Let's see who can do it the fastest and most accurately.
(The teacher shows the 1a question and students begin to match.At the same time，the teacher circulates around the classroom and gives guidance.)
设计意图：通过直接引入家庭成员称谓的学习，帮助学生掌握基本的词汇知识。通过匹配练习，检验学生的预习效果，同时加深对家庭成员称谓的理解，培养学生的自主学习能力，鼓励他们在课堂上积极参与，提高学习效率。通过这两个活动的设计，使学生能够在轻松愉快的氛围中感知家庭的重要性，同时掌握相关的英语表达，为后续的学习打下坚实的基础。

T：Very good job on 1a！Now，let's move on to 1b.Look at the two pictures on the board.Can you guess what they're about
Ss：(Students observe the pictures and guess.) They're about families.
T：That's right！These two pictures are about families.Now，let's listen to two conversations.Your task is to listen carefully and number the pictures in the order you hear them.
(The teacher plays the recording，and students listen and complete the sorting task.)

Activity 4 Listening(深入获取与理解)

T：Well done on 1b！Now，let's listen to the two conversations again，but this time，we're going to complete the sentences in 1c.Your task is to listen carefully and fill in the blanks with the correct words.
(The teacher plays the recording，and students listen and fill in the blanks.)
设计意图：通过再次听录音并完成句子填空，进一步提高学生的听力理解能力。帮助学生深入理解家庭成员之间的关系，并能用英语准确表达。培养学生的语言运用能力和逻辑思维能力。
Activity 5 Practice(概括与整合)
T：Well done！Now，I'd like each of you to bring out your family photo.(Students prepare in advance.) Then talk about the people in it.The teacher gives some key sentences on the screen and makes a model with one student.
A：Is this/Are these your…？ B：Yes，…/No，… A：Who's/Who're…？　　B：He's/She's/They're…
Ask students to practise in pairs.Then invite some pairs to act it out in the front.

Activity 6 Pronunciation(梳理与获取)
Work on 1
T：Now，let's move on to pronunciation.We're going to learn about vowel sounds.These are very important for us to sound natural and clear in English.Let's listen and repeat the sounds together.
Ask students to pay attention to the sounds of the letter and combination of letters(“er，ir，ur”，“er，or”，“u” and “ar，ear”).
Add more words and get them to read aloud.
设计意图：通过听读训练，帮助学生掌握四个元音的发音，同时学会归纳，发现字母和字母组合的发音规律。
Work on 2
Play the recording for the students to listen and repeat.
Help students find the rules of pronunciation about s， es or 's.
设计意图：通过听读练习，帮助学生掌握动词三单形式和名词所有格的发音。在老师的指导下，学生自己归纳出动词三单形式、名词所有格的发音规律，有利于提升朗读和识记单词的能力。
Work on 3
Ask students to listen carefully and try to repeat.
Get them to pay close attention to the stressed syllables in the words.Notice how the sound changes when we stress different parts of the word.
(The teacher plays the audio of the pronunciation demonstration，and students follow and imitate it.)
Play a recording of some other words and ask the students to circle the stressed syllables，and then repeat them with the correct pronunciation and stress.

Activity 7 Homework(反馈与强化)
Try to introduce your family to your partner and record it using a video，and then share it with your classmates.
Read the words including the following long and short vowels / /，/ /，/ /，/ɑ /.
This lesson effectively stimulated students' interest and participation through a variety of teaching activities，such as picture observation，listening exercises，and oral practice.However，in pronunciation practice，some students still need to strengthen their mastery of vowel pronunciation，especially the grasp of stress placement.In the future，individual tutoring or group cooperative pronunciation practice sessions could be considered.
During the teaching process，I noticed that students' oral expression ability and listening comprehension ability have improved，but the accuracy of pronunciation still needs further attention.In addition，although most students are able to actively participate in classroom activities，a few students are still relatively passive.More interactive and highly participatory teaching activities should be designed in the future to stimulate the learning enthusiasm of all students.
