第四课时 Section B 1a—1d
The discourse is 2 practical writings about students' favourite subjects.The first passage is about Mike Davis's favourite subject and the reasons,and the second is about Wu Binbin's.The passages use simple and straightforward language that is easy to understand,without complex sentence structures or esoteric vocabulary,making it suitable for middle school students' English proficiency.
The reading from the message board not only teaches students about their favourite subjects through the introduction of two students,but also guides students to express the reasons why they like or dislike something.The reading materials are related to the students' daily life,so students will be more interested in the topic to talk more.

(With the help of the teacher,let students predict two texts.)
Read the message board about students' favourite subjects.Underline all the school subjects each student has.
(Under the guidance of the teacher,students answer the genre and topic of the articles to predict their contents and understand that the articles are practical writings about subjects.)

Activity 3 Fast reading(获取与梳理)
Work on 1c
Read two passages from the textbook fast and talk about two students' favourite subjects and the reasons in 1c.Let students discuss and correct their answers.With the help of the teacher,they can get the answers right.
设计意图:学生在老师的指导下快速运用阅读策略,得到题目的正确答案,帮助学生掌握阅读技巧。
Activity 4 Careful reading(概括与整合)
Work on 1d
Students read the article for the second time.Under the guidance of the teacher,students need to answer the questions in 1d.And under the guidance of the teacher,students can think about how to obtain information through fast reading and keyword getting,accurately and quickly completing tasks.
Read again and master 2 students' opinions about the subjects.Use the information to express their own opinions.
设计意图:帮助学生理解文章的整体内容,培养他们准确获取、组织和记录关键信息的能力。帮助学生掌握语篇的主旨大意,有逻辑地组织文章中的信息,理解语言、文化和思维之间的关系,引导学生组织、学习和内化语篇中的关键句型和关键语言,为进一步在现实生活中运用所学内容奠定基础。
Activity 5 Express and show(内化与运用)

设计意图:激发学生深入思考,探索更深层次的意义,为进一步提炼和总结信息打下基础。在这个过程中,学生能够明晰写作方法和语言结构,为后续的写作夯实基础,做好铺垫。
Activity 6 Discussion(总结与反思)
Since we have known about the information about 2 passages about their favourite subjects,we can also express our own opinions according to 1b.Actually,students should be balanced with their subjects for better growth.
设计意图:根据新的语境,整合和运用相关的语言表达,探索我们如何解决个人偏好与学科学习之间的矛盾,并用文字介绍我们的想法,运用我们所学到的知识,培养学生运用语言和文化知识解决实际问题的能力,促进迁移和创新。

Read the passage clearly to your parents.
Write a passage about your favourite day using the target language.
This English reading class not only improved students' language skills,but also promoted their cultural cognition,emotional development,and social communication abilities.Through this comprehensive learning experience,students can better understand the world and also gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
