Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意)
T：Today we are going to learn the grammar focus part.Let's read the sentences and find out the rules of sentence patterns.
(The teacher displays some sentences on the screen，such as “Can you play ping pong？”“Yes，I can.”“No，I can't.”)
T：Look at these sentences.Can you find any similarities in them
Ss：They all have can .
T：Yes，great！Now let's read them together and notice how can changes the meaning of the sentences.

Activity 2 Presentation(获取与梳理)

T：Read the sentences and look at the verbs in bold.Do they change form？Work in groups.Read the sentences.Find out the rules of using can .
(They will find the fact is that we use the base form of a verb after modal verb can.)
T：Yes，you find the rules of usage of modal verbs.But do you know how to change them into negative，general questions and short answers.OK，let's look at the blackboard.Pay attention to the sentence：Can you speak English？Here，speak is the base form of a verb，right？So，we can say the base form of a verb is behind modal verbs.

T：Now let's put the rules we've learned into practice.Match the two parts in 3b to make sentences.Then make more sentences with can .Let's see who can come up with the most creative sentences.

S1：A fish can swim.
T：Very good！That's right.What about the next one
S2：A dog can run fast.
T：Excellent！Now，in your groups，try to make as many sentences as you can using can .You have 5 minutes.
