第五课时 Section B 2a—Project
This lesson is a writing class with the model text being a new media discourse(email).Students first use the given vocabulary to complete an email,and then write an email based on the requirements to express why they want to join this club.Students should utilize the knowledge learned from previous units in this section to engage in teacher student interaction and writing,ultimately promoting the enhancement of core literacy.

1.The teacher encourages the students to speak up and practice writing,expressing themselves in English according to their actual situation,either orally or in written form.
2.Students are given clear objectives to apply the sentence patterns learned in this lesson to oral communication and incorporate them into their writing to strengthen their skills.
Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意)
Greet the whole class,then show some pictures on PPT,and ask them about their likes and dislikes.

设计意图:根据提问,让学生注意到本课学习内容与他们现实生活紧密相关,引导学生关注生活,同时自然导入新课教学。
Activity 2 Pre writing(获取与梳理)
Work on 2a
T:Today we are going to learn Section B Writing.Let's think about what we have learned about how to write something about school clubs.
T:Look at the passage and discuss what type this passage is.
T:Complete the email with the words in the box.
After that,let's check the answers.
设计意图:阅读并完成email,激活学生背景知识,同时为学生提供口语训练的机会及初步搭建写作框架。
Activity 3 While writing:Learn to write(概括与整合)
Ask students to read the email together,then work in groups to find out the structure of the email.
Ask students to list the key points of introducing the clubs they want to join and show the reasons.
The class read the email again and find out the detailed information.And put them into the structure.
Find out some beautiful sentences from the passage.And write them in the notebook.The teacher moves around to offer help in time.
设计意图:学生通过小组活动,探讨文章的写作框架,能培养学生设计篇章结构的能力。教师引导学生列出写申请书的关键信息,能帮助学生明晰写作内容(写什么)。同时师生共同寻找好的语句,可以提升学生遣词造句以及润色文章的能力。
Activity 4 While writing:Write and polish(内化与应用)
Work on 2b
Choose one club from 1b,write an application according to their own conditions and express why they want to join,using the target language.
Work in groups and polish each other's composition.
设计意图:学生参照教材范文写出初稿,属于目标语言输出活动,能有效培养写作技能;小组共同打磨文章,能集思广益,增强合作交流意识,提升合作能力。
Activity 5 Post writing(批判与评价)
Ask some students to read their passages in front of the class,and the others listen carefully to find out the advantages and disadvantages.Encourage them to speak out their thoughts.
The teacher also points out the advantages and disadvantages according to the evaluation criteria.
设计意图:学生朗读自己的作品,能帮助他们树立信心,激发写作兴趣。通过同学互评、师评等方式,能体现学生主体、教师主导的教学理念,能调动学生学习主动性和积极性,有利于提升写作能力。
Activity 6 Poster making(想象与创造)
Work on 3a
Under the guidance of the teacher,students define the project tasks,set up a club in the group,and explain the concept and reasons.
The teacher guides students to think about the types of clubs they are interested in,and briefly introduce the basic contents of clubs.
Work on 3b
Students discuss in groups to determine the name,purpose,activity content,meeting time and place and contact information,and prepare to make posters.
Students write poster content in English and design attractive layouts and patterns that showcase the club's characteristics.
Put up the posters on the wall of the classroom and select the best poster among them.
Work on 3c
Students interview their classmates and find new members for the club they set up.They can conduct the interview like this:
A:Can you work well with your hands
B:Yes,I can.
A:Can you come at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays
B:Yes,I can./ No,I can't.
Record the interviewees' information on the table in 3c.
设计意图:通过制作关于俱乐部招新的海报,可以为学生提供目标语言输出的机会,有利于巩固本单元所学语言,培养学生综合语言运用能力;同时海报制作需要学生动手实践以及运用绘画等知识,能够培养跨学科学习意识,同时能够促进学生全面发展,有利于发展学生的核心素养。
Activity 7 Homework(反馈与强化)
Write an application according to your own conditions.
In this class,students can get enough writing practice and project based activities.With the help of the teacher,students can improve their writing and speaking skills to master the target language further.But at the same time,time is limited,not every student can get enough attention,which needs the teacher to understand students better and give more help and guidance to those who have a weak foundation in English.
