资源简介 Unit 5 Fun Clubs第四课时 Section B 1a—1dThis class is mainly about selecting the appropriate club based on students' own hobbies and abilities.Through the previous three classes,students have learned the basic sentence patterns of “What can you do?What club do you want to join?” Through reading and other forms,the learned content can be further consolidated.Many students have a relatively weak foundation in English.In order to mobilize their enthusiasm,the teacher should try to create real situations for students to use the target language to communicate,improve their language proficiency,and enhance their emotions with each other.◆ Language Proficiency(语言能力)1.Learn some words about abilities.2.Express their abilities using modal verb can .3.Speak out the clubs that they want to join.◆ Cultural Awareness(文化意识)1.Cultivate students Chinese culture confidence through some special clubs.2.Develop students' love for Chinese traditional food.◆ Thinking Quality(思维品质)Cultivate logical thinking skills including observation,analysis,reasoning,judgement through reading the ads about three clubs.◆ Learning Capability(学习能力)1.Learn to communicate with their classmates.2.Discuss the questions or problems with their partners.◆ Teaching Focus(教学重点)1.Express their likes and dislikes.2.Express what they can and what they can't do.3.Write an application.◆ Teaching Difficulties(教学难点)1.Some phrasal verbs.2.Find students' likes and dislikes from a passage.Teaching Breakthroughs1.Encourage students to speak up and express themselves in English based on their actual situation.2.Help students apply sentence patterns they learned in this lesson to oral communication to enhance their pragmatic competence.Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意)Work on 1aT:Hello,everyone.I have three friends.They are Alice,Lin Hui and Jack.They have different interests.Now,let's read their comments on the screen.After reading,tell me what clubs they should join.Then collect their answers and write some key words on the blackboard.设计意图:通过对三位学生兴趣爱好的简要了解,为后面的语篇学习做铺垫。Activity 2 Pre reading:Prediction(感知与注意)T:Look at the passages and tell me what kind of passages they are.T:Please look at the pictures in the ads.What can you see in the pictures?Predict what the ads are about.设计意图:通过观察语篇,让学生判断文本体裁。要求学生看图片,预测广告内容,可以培养学生观察、分析、判断等逻辑思维能力。Activity 3 Fast reading(获取与梳理)Work on 1bLet the students read the title and ask them what the title We Want You! mean.Ask students to read the ads quickly and then choose a club for each student in 1a.Then ask students to underline the reasons in the ads.Check the answers by asking “What club can Alice/Lin Hui/Jack join?Why?”.设计意图:通过快速阅读,为三位同学挑选适合加入的社团,达到快速阅读获取关键信息的目的,培养速读能力。Activity 4 Careful reading(获取与梳理)Work on 1cIn the discourse,there are 3 clubs,and they have different needs,such as what to do,where to meet/go,when to meet and who to write to.Let students read three ads carefully and complete the table in 1c.While the students are reading,the teacher move around to give proper help.Then let students exchange their answers with their partners to get the right answers.At last,choose students to read the answers in 1c and make sure the whole class get the right answers.设计意图:通过仔细阅读,查找所需细节,培养学生阅读能力;学生将获取的信息填入表格,是在绘制思维导图,这有利于培养学生将知识结构化的能力。Activity 5 Retell the ads(内化与运用)Ask the students to retell one of the ads according the table.Practice retelling by themselves.And the teacher provides the table on the screen.Club What to do Where to meet/go When to meet Who to write toCooking Club Learn to cook Chinese food Room 303 At 4:30 p.m.on Wednesdays People who love cooking People who can cook Then invite some students to retell the ads.They can begin like this:If you love Chinese food and can cook,you can join the cooking club.In the club,you can…While they retell,ask the others to listen carefully.Then get them to evaluate the retelling.设计意图:根据表格中的基本信息,引导学生复述广告,有利于学生内化目标语言,提升综合语言运用能力;同时其他学生的评价可以促进学生反思自己课堂内学习表现,有利于调整学习策略,提升学习能力。Activity 6 Post reading:Discussion(内化与运用)Work on 1dLet the students discuss the questions in 1d in groups of three and write down the answers.Then ask one of each group to make a report about what club they want to join and why.The teacher can move around to offer help.设计意图:让学生根据自己的实际情况来讨论,有利于巩固目标语言;同时通过学生间的交流合作与分析,有利于培养学生的综合语用能力和逻辑思维能力,增强他们的合作意识。Activity 7 Homework(反馈与强化)Retell one of the three ads according to the table.Communicate with your classmates about what they can and what they can't do.The teaching of this unit aims to help students express fluently in English what they can do and choose suitable clubs based on their interests and hobbies.The teaching content is closely related to the students' real life,encouraging them to start from their own reality.Learn more and practice more,thereby their English proficiency can be improved.During the organization of teaching,the teacher can pay attention to cultivating students' reading ability,provide appropriate strategy guidance,and develop their reading literacy. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
