第二课时 Section A 2a—2e
This lesson continues to center around the topic of “How do you choose a school club?” The teaching content mainly comprises a dialogue passage with illustrations.This lesson employs listening tasks as a means to deepen students' understanding of the clubs they want to join and the activities they can engage in through the dialogue.Additionally,the text functions as a reading passage where students need to comprehend the conversation between Teng Fei,Emma,and Peter,as well as their respective talents and interests.Such discourse learning contributes to enhancing students' English reading comprehension abilities,and enabling them to better grasp the main idea of the discourse.
◆ Language Proficiency(语言能力)
1.Be able to obtain information about Teng Fei,Peter,and Emma's choices of school clubs and the activities they can engage in through listening and reading the dialogue;identify sentence patterns used to inquire about and respond to abilities.
2.Utilize the target language to describe one's own abilities and the school club they want to join,conduct interviews with classmates about their club preferences,and perform role play in class.
3.Employ relevant language expressions to investigate classmates' intended school clubs and reasons,and present reports in class based on personal findings.

Enhance students' English cultural awareness through this lesson,enabling them to better understand and respect diverse cultural phenomena.

Activity 1 Lead in(感知与注意)
Greet each other.
Get students to watch a short video carefully,then ask them what the girl can do.
T:First look at the picture and answer the following three questions.What is the picture about?What can you see in the picture?Where are they
Collect some answers from students.At the same time,the teacher teaches some new words.
设计意图:通过观看短视频,复习旧知,导入新课。学生通过观看教材中的图片,学会预测听力内容,为后续的听力活动做好铺垫。
Activity 2 Be a smart listener(获取与梳理)
Work on 2a
Teach students some strategies about listening.They can write the first letter of the words or some key words while listening.
Play the recording for students.Ask them to fill in the blanks.
Check the answers with the whole class.
设计意图:通过听力活动,提升听力技能,同时给予听力策略指导。
Activity 3 Be a clever and careful reader(概括与整合)
Work on 2b
First,get students to read the conversation quickly,and ask them what the conversation is mainly about.
Then,ask students to read the conversation carefully,get them to answer what Peter,Emma,Ella,and Teng Fei can do.Check the answers and fill in the table.
设计意图:快速阅读获取对话大意,帮助学生整体感知对话内容,并培养学生准确获取、梳理和记录关键信息的能力。通过阅读回答问题提高口头表达能力。
Activity 4 Listening and role playing(概括与整合)
Work on 2c
Play the recording for students and get them to repeat after the recording.Meanwhile,draw the students' attention to the letters that are silent.Ask them to read again without the recording.
Let students role play the conversation and show themselves in front of the class.Then evaluate which group performs the best.
设计意图:引导学生在归纳和整理核心语言的基础上,通过角色扮演使每位学生都能深入角色,运用语言理解意义,促进语言内化,从学习理解过渡到应用实践,为后面的真实表达做准备。
Activity 5 Show your abilities(内化与运用)
Work on 2d—2e
Ask students to read the sentences and circle can or can't with their own information.Then tick the clubs they want to join.
Get them to add more items to the table.Collect their own ideas by asking and answering.
Let students work in pairs.Talk about what clubs they want to join.Give an example to them.

T:After practicing,work in groups and after that you can show yourselves in front of the class.

Activity 6 Interview and report(内化与运用)

  This lesson has enhanced the students' information acquisition skills through listening training and has also helped them master certain listening strategies.By participating in various teaching activities,students have effectively improved their reading abilities,such as predicting from pictures and summarizing the main content of texts.During the completion of these activities,students are able to engage in language input and output,fostering their ability to use the target language.The diverse range of activities is also conducive to developing students' pragmatic language skills.
