given details.◆ Teaching Difficulties(教学难点)Be able to accurately transfer and apply the vocabulary,target structures,sentence patterns,and various functional expressions learned in this unit to their own writing.◆ Teaching Breakthroughs(教学突破)The teacher can design free talk,watching birthday videos and some other activities to activate students' relevant language knowledge.This can help the students clear up some writing difficulties.The students should be given some help,including completing a mind map with them,and making an outline of their writing.During the teaching,the teacher is supposed to design some evaluation activities to help the students to know what deficiencies they have in writing.Activity 1 Warming up and revision(感知与注意)Get students to watch a video of Lily's birthday party and answer some questions.(When is Lily's birthday?Who does she spend her birthday with?What dose she do on her birthday?How does she feel about her birthday?)Let students think about 2 Complete the mind map(获取与梳理)Work on 2aT:Let's complete the mind map about how you celebrate your birthday.If you have any problems,you can ask me for help.After that,let's share our answers together.Then get some to read the information in the mind map.The teacher can use these questions to help them.(When is your birthday?What do you prepare for your birthday?Where do you go to celebrate your birthday?…)After that,ask students to work in groups and find out the structure of the sample article in 2a.Then tell them the article usually includes time,place,people,activities,feelings and other aspects.设计意图:教师根据写作目的提供阅读样本,指导学生获取和组织样本的文本结构和主要内容的选择方法,为学生运用所学知识完成自己的写作大纲、选择和组织内容奠定基础。Activity 3 Writing(想象与创造)Work on 2bAsk students to list the key points of talking about their birthdays such as the dates,the places,the people and the feelings.T:Find out some beautiful sentences from the passages in 1b.And write them in your notebook.Complete the initial draft of the writing in 2b,and students will independently write the first draft of the article based on the outline and writing points,using the effective language expressions from the sample essay.Work in groups and try to revise their compositions.(The teacher moves around to give more help if compositions.At the same time,let students find the mistakes and help to correct them to get a better composition.Let other students listen carefully to pay attention to the details such as the dates,the people,the activities,the age and the feelings.It can improve students' listening skills and key information capturing abilities.Suppose that Ms Green is your English teacher.Her birthday is coming.Try to make a plan with your classmates to celebrate her birthday.These questions can be useful.(Where do you want to celebrate?When do you want to celebrate together?Who do you want to invite?What do you want to do on that day?)…Write a passage in groups of three.Invite some groups to share their compositions.Evaluate their compositions according to the standards given by the elects a team leader,who is responsible for organizing discussions and reporting the results.The leader leads the group to use the question“When is your birthday?” to ask the group members their birthdays and register them on the calendar.The group members discuss how to celebrate the birthdays of the students this month,including the time,place,invited guests and activities.(The questions in 3c can help them.)The team leader summarizes the results of the discussion and reports the celebration plan to the class.All the students vote for the most meaningful way to celebrate and put it into
