Unit 7　Happy Birthday!
第二课时　Section A 2a—2e
This lesson uses listening tasks as a means.Based on the previous listening task，this conversation introduces the process of two students shopping for a birthday party in the form of dialogue，presenting shopping scenes and language，and helping students establish a consumption concept.This conversation introduces how to prepare for the birthday party and how people celebrate their own and their family and friends' birthdays.
Through the study of this lesson，the students should be able to master commonly used expressions when shopping，such as asking for prices，selecting products，making payments，etc.At the same time，students should also understand the basic process of shopping，and be able to use the shopping language for simple shopping communication.
◆ Language Proficiency(语言能力)
1．Master the target language and inquire about the price of items，such as “How much is/are…？” Inquire about the quantity，such as “How many kilos do you want？” Master shopping communication sentences，such as “Can I help you？”“Have a nice day！”
2．Learn to use the shopping terms to carry out simple shopping exchanges，and improve the ability of oral English.

Learn how to prepare birthday parties for foreign friends and how to shop appropriately in the target language.

Activity 1 Prediction(感知与注意)
Students observe the theme map，and under the guidance of the teacher，know that the main content of this unit is the scene of Teng Fei and Peter going shopping in the store.Then ask them three questions.(What is the photo about？What can you see in the picture？Where are they？)
设计意图：通过观察图片，引入主题，培养学生“看”的能力；教师创设情景，激活背景知识，也能唤起学生关于物品的购买、价格和数量等词汇与句型的表达，通过设计主题图预测任务激活学生的思维，培养他们推理和预测的能力。
Activity 2 Listening(感知与注意)
Work on 2a
Play the recording for students，and they can complete dialogues based on the listening content.
Work on 2b
Students read the conversation again and try to fill out the form in 2b，filling in the things purchased by Peter and Teng Fei，the number，the price and the total amount of money.And verify the answers under the guidance of the teacher.
Work on 2c
Students listen to the conversation again.Get students to pay attention to the pronunciation of words in the sentence，as well as the phenomenon of rising and falling tones of words in the sentence.Then get some students to read the conversation.(Each reads one sentence one by one.)
Students can engage in role playing with their peers in front of the class based on the listening materials.
设计意图：合理设计听、读活动，提升学生英语素养。一听，帮助学生理解对话的整体内容，培养学生准确获取、记录关键信息的能力；一读，帮助学生提取细节信息，进一步理解对话内容；二读，完成表格信息，全面掌握对话内容；二听，指导学生注意句子重音和语调。最后的角色扮演式的听力对话，能够促进学生内化关键句型和关键语言，为进一步将所学知识应用到实际生活中奠定基础。

Work on 2d
Under the guidance of the teacher，in the form of group cooperation，refer to the vocabulary bar to discuss what other items you would like to buy for the birthday party，and classify the items in the shopping list according to food，drinks，and other items.Everyone discusses the reasons for purchasing the items and reaches a consensus within the group.
Work on 2e
T：Let's try to role play the conversation of buying the things on the shopping list for a birthday party and show yourselves in front of the class.
Let students evaluate which pair performs best.
设计意图：教师设计的实践应用类活动能丰富学生的词汇，发展学生的思维，学会进行词汇分类。通过对话分享，进一步巩固所学目标语言，提升语言运用能力。同伴互相评价，有利于学习反思，找出不足，共同进步，实现以评促学的目标。
Activity 4 Homework(反馈与强化)
Listen carefully and read the conversation fluently.
Make a conversation about buying things in a store with your partner and then write it down.

The teacher organizes group discussions for students to share their past experiences of special holiday celebrations and discuss the significance and impact of these activities.Encourage students to put the learning outcomes of this article to real life，such as planning celebration events for their own and their family and friends' birthdays.
According to the concept of English learning activities，the teacher should design multi level activities，thinking from low to high，to promote students to internalize the target language，so as to achieve flexible use of the goal.
