Step 1　Lead in
The teacher asks students about their favourite part of a birthday and choose three or four students to share their answers.
T：What's your favourite part of a birthday，the cake，the gifts，the food or the activities

T：Most of you like the delicious food on the birthday.So today let's talk about how to buy birthday food in the supermarket.

Step 2　 Listening & Speaking(2a～2c)
Work on 2a
1．Ask students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.
2．Ask students to share the answers and the teacher corrects their pronunciation if necessary.
Work on 2b
1．Ask one student to read the conversation and let the other students complete the table.
T：What do Teng Fei and Peter buy？How many things do they buy？How much are they？I will ask one of you to read，and the rest of you fill in the blanks in 2b.
(While reading，the teacher corrects the student's pronunciation.)
2．Ask students to share the answers with complete sentences and the teacher helps to correct if necessary.
Work on 2c
1．Ask students to listen to the conversation again and pay attention to the intonation.
2．Ask students to work in pairs.Then role play the conversation.
3．Ask students to find out the key phrases and sentences.
(The teacher writes the key points on the blackboard.)

Work on 2d
1．Ask students to think about other things they would like to prepare for a birthday party and then make a shopping list.
T：What food and drinks do you want to buy？What else would you like to buy for a birthday party？Put the things in the box into different groups on the shopping list.You can add more.
2．Divide all the students into several groups and let them discuss their ideas.
3．Exchange their ideas and then complete the shopping list in 2d.
Work on 2e
1．Ask students to practise buying the things on the shopping list for a birthday party using the sentence patterns.
The teacher gives an example：

2．Ask students to make a conversation about shopping and share it in class.
