第五课时　Section B(2a～3d)
1．Talk about the dates of students' birthdays and how to celebrate their birthdays.

Step 1　Review
1．Ask students to do exercises of this unit.
2．The teacher checks the answers and shows the fallible words or sentence patterns on the blackboard.
(The exercises must include the key and the difficult points and fallible points.)

Step 2　Presentation(2a～2b)
Work on 2a
1．Ask students to brainstorm how they celebrate their birthdays.Then complete the mind map in 2a.
T：Yesterday，we talked about how Judy and Xiaoming celebrate their birthdays.How do you usually celebrate your birthdays？Complete the mind map first and then tell me your ways.
2．Choose four or five students to share the answers in class.The teacher can give some guidance.
Work on 2b
1．Ask students to write about their ways to celebrate their birthdays using the information in 2a.
T：Now，it's time for you to write a reply to Judy's and Xiaoming's posts.
2．Choose students to come to the front of the classroom and share their answers.

8th April is my mother's birthday.It is my wish to do something for my mother.Here is my plan for her birthday.
First of all，I decide to help my mother do some housework so that she can have a good rest.My mother loves flowers，especially roses，so I'll encourage my father to buy her some.What's more，I'm going to make a card in the shape of heart with my best wishes.I'm sure my mother will be moved when she opens the card.Finally，there will be an evening birthday party.We'll sing the “Happy Birthday” song，eat the delicious cake together and have a heart to heart talk with each other.We'll enjoy ourselves a lot.
That's my plan and I'll realize it on my mother's birthday.

Step 4　Practice(3a～3d)
Work on 3a
Ask students to work in groups，and find out the birthdays in their groups and write them on the calendar.
(Students use the sentence pattern：—When is your birthday？—It's on…)
Work on 3b
1．Ask group leaders to hand in the calendar that was finished just now.
2．Ask one or two students to look at the calender and find out whose birthdays are this month and give the result.
Work on 3c
Ask students to work out a meaningful way to celebrate the birthdays together.
T：When do you want to celebrate your birthdays together？Where do you want to celebrate them？Who do you want to invite？What do you want to do？Work in groups and think of some meaningful ways to celebrate the birthdays.
Work on 3d
1．Ask each group to select one representative to share their plans.Other students vote for the best plan.The one that gets the most votes wins.
2．Ask students to write their composition and finish it in 10 minutes.
3．Check the compositions by themselves.
