1．quarter n．一刻钟，四分之一
考点→a quarter既可指一刻钟又可表示分数四分之一。
例句 It＇s a quarter past three.现在是三点一刻。
2．quick adj．快的
考点→quick的副词为quickly。
例句 You＇d better finish your homework quickly.
你最好快点把家庭作业写完。
3．quite adv．相当
考点→①quite+a/an+adj.+n.;②quite a few/a·little 相当多；③quite与 quiet 词形相近但意思不同，quiet是形容词，意为“安静的”。
例句 He is quite a clever boy.
他是个相当聪明的男孩。
Quite a few students said they dreamed of going to the moon one day.

3．rather adv．宁可，宁愿，相当
考点←①would rather宁愿，宁可，后接动词原形，否定形式为 would rather not do sth.；②would rather..
than...／would...rather than...宁愿······而不愿······

考点 ①get／be ready for 为······做准备；②be ready to do sth.准备做某事。
例句 Are you ready for the journey？

6．receive v．收到，得到
考点←receive a letter from sb. ＝hear from sb.收到某人的来信。
例句 I received a letter from him this morning.

7．refuse v．拒绝
考点refuse to do sth.拒绝做某事。
例句 I want to refuse to do so much work.
我想拒绝做这么多的工作。
8．regard v．看待
考点＜regard...as...把······看做······
例句 I regard him as a friend.我把他当做朋友。
9．relax v．休息，放松
考点→①relax为动词；②relaxed 感到放松的，用来修饰人；relaxing令人放松的，用来修饰事或物。
例句 I need some time to play and relax.
我需要一些时间玩和放松。
Everyone feels relaxed. 每个人都感到很放松。
What a relaxing afternoon! 一个多么轻松的下午啊！
10．remember v．记得，记住
考点①remember to do sth.记得去做某事
②remember doing sth.记得曾做过某事（该事已经做过了）。
例句 Remember to turn off the light.记得关灯。
I remember seeing him once.我记得曾经见过他。

考点←①reply to 回答，答复；②reply 除后接 that 从句或引出直接引语时是及物动词外，一般只作不及物动词。
例句 He didn＇t reply to this letter.
他没有回复这封信。
13．rest n．休息；v．休息，歇息
考点①have／take a rest 休息；②rest还可表示其余的人或物；③rest your feet／legs／eyes，etc.歇歇脚／腿／眼睛等；the rest of...其余的······，剩下的······。
例句 I really want to have a rest.我真的想休息一下。
The rest of the students are running.
其余的学生正在跑步。
14．return v．归还，回来；n．返回
考点→①return不与back连用；②return sth.to...把某物还给······；③return to sp.返回某地。
例句 Don＇t forget to return this book to the library.
别忘了把这本书还给图书馆。

right adj．正确的，对的，适当的；n．右边，权利
考点①all right好，可以；②That＇s all right.别客气，没关系；③right away 立刻，马上；④right now 马上，现在；⑤on the right 在右边；⑥turn right 右转。

16．ring v．按铃，铃响；n．铃声，戒指

考点 room作“房间”讲时是可数名词，作“空间”讲时是不可数名词。
