Presentation15’ 1. Ss listen to the recording of the two sentences. Ss discuss in pairs positions of antecedent and relative clause in sentences. T helps Ss get the answer. 通过让学生再次听录音,观察定语从句的结构。学生通过讨论,自主总结先行词和定语从句位置关系。 正确说出先行词和定语从句位置关系(先行词出现在定语从句的前面)。
T writes four sentences on the board. T uses one sentence with a relative clause referring to a person with “that” and one with “who”. The other two sentences should refer to things; one beginning with “that” and the other with “which”. T asks Ss to point out these differences and explain why “which” or “who” is used. Ss try to share opinions on the relative clause with “whose” and T helps to modify them and list the rules on board.“Whose” is always the subject of the relative clause and can’t be left out. It replaces a possessive. It can be used for people and things. 归纳总结关系代词whose的用法,帮助学生将定语从句的知识框架化系统化掌握。 学生能够明确关系代词whose和先行词的所有格关系,以及关系代词whose在定语从句中的作用。
Practice17’ 1. T asks Ss to complete the sentences in the exercise by filling in the blanks with the correct relative pronouns. Then check answers in class. 控制型训练侧重语言的准确度,强化学生对关系代词的理解。 学生根据上下文语境正确使用关系代词。
