1.Talk about out favourite school day and what classes we have on that day.
2.Know the grammar:conjunctions and,but,because.
3.Talk about our favourite subjects and reasons.
Language AbilitiesGrasp the following important points as well as be able to read and write correctly.Key words and phrases:important,difficult,the same subjects as…,boring,favourite school day,fun,learn about IT,listen to music,be good at,helps sb.with…,like…a lot,draw pictures,learn about different plants and animals,remember all the information.Key sentences:①History is my favourite subject,but my sister doesn't like it.②He doesn't like maths because it's boring to him.③What subjects do you like and why ④She makes everyone in the class feel special.
Learning AbilitiesLearn to recall and organize information about their favourite school day and the classes they have on that day.
Thinking QualitiesBe able to think about why that day is their favourite,analyze the characteristics and significance of those classes,and develop critical and reflective thinking.
Cultural AwarenessCultivate the cultural atmosphere and educational concepts within the school context,as well as how different classes reflect the educational culture and values.
重点:
1.Students are able to master the vocabularies of specific classes,and phrases to describe the classes.
2.Students are able to clearly express their favourite school day and explain the reasons.
3.Students are able to use appropriate conjunctions or sentences to accurately convey the order and characteristics of the classes when expressing the classes.
难点:
1.Students are able to use proper conjunctions or phrases to make the description more coherent and natural.
2.Students are able to describe the feelings and experiences on the favourite school day,not just listing the classes.
Step 1 Review & Lead in
Show students some conjunctions and ask them the part of speech.
T:Boys and girls,how can we make different ideas together in English?A special kind of words can do this.They are called conjunctions.Are you all excited to start this journey of exploring conjunctions
【设计意图】通过看词猜词性的形式导入新课,引发学生思考,直接引入主题。
Step 2 Grammar(3a)
Work on 3a
1.Ask students to read the sentences in the grammar box,circle conjunctions.
2.Ask students to research in groups and find out the meanings and functions of conjunctions and,but,because.
3.Ask students to share their discussion and complete the statements in the box with and,but,or because.Summary:
a.We use “because” to give a reason.
b.We use “and” to give another idea.
c.We use “but” to give two different ideas.
(Students share the answers and the teacher writes the rules on the blackboard.If necessary,correct their discussion at the same time.)
4.Give students 2 minutes to understand the rules and memorize them.

Step 3 Exercise(3b~3c)
Work on 3b
1.Ask students to match the numbers with the correct letters to make sentences.
2.Ask students to share their answers in class and the teacher helps to correct if necessary.
3.Ask students to remember some key phrases:learn about IT,is good at…,help me with my English.
(The teacher writes down the phrases on the blackboard.)
Work on 3c
1.Ask students to complete the passage with and,but,or because.
T:A girl is talking about her favourite day.Read it and fill in the blanks with and,but,or because.
2.Ask students to share their answers in class and the teacher helps to correct if necessary.
(Students must read the complete sentences.)
3.Ask students to read the passage three times and try to recite it.

Step 4 Speaking(3d)
Work on 3d
1.Ask students to work in groups,do a survey in class using the questions in 3d.
T:Which is your favourite school day?What subjects do you have that day?What subjects on that day do you like and why?Who likes the same subjects as you and why?You can imitate the sentence patterns in 3c or use the key points on the blackboard to do the survey.You have three minutes.Go!
2.Choose three or four students to give a report in front of the class.
3.Choose the best one to give a prize.

Step 5 Summary
Ask students to make a summary about what we learned today.

Step 6 Homework
1.Ask two of their friends about the four questions in 3d and take notes,then prepare an easy report.
2.Do the exercises in students' workbooks.
