1.Talk about personal information like age,name,nationality,class,grade…
2.Know the grammar:Simple present tense (be),personal pronouns (I,you,he,she,it,we,they).
3.Write a school ID card to introduce a student.
Language AbilitiesGrasp the following important points as well as be able to read and write correctly.Key words and phrases:country,first name,class teacher,mistake,classmate,friend,who's=who is,I'm=I am,he's=he is,it's=it is Key sentences:①What's his/her name?②Where's he/she from?③Who is his/her class teacher?④What class is he/she in?⑤How old is he/she?
Learning Abilities●Learn to grasp key words,phrases,and sentences.●Learn to use the grammar properly:Simple present tense (be),personal pronouns (I,you,he,she,it,we,they).●Learn different expressions and communication skills from the process of communicating personal information with others to enhance the ability of language application.
Thinking Qualities●Be able to organize the narration of personal information in an orderly manner,such as introducing one's hobbies,etc.●Be able to review and reflect on the information provided by oneself to ensure its authenticity and appropriateness.
Cultural Awareness●Understand the differences between English and Chinese names.●Cultivate students' awareness and ability of cross cultural communication.
重点:
1.Students are able to introduce personal information with the words and sentence patterns:country,class,class teacher,mistake,classmate,friend;What's his/her name?What class is he/she in?…

难点:
1.Students are able to talk about personal information with proper sentence patterns.
2.Students are able to use proper personal pronouns to talk about a person.
Step 1 Lead in(A guessing game)
1.The teacher shows some personal information about some teachers and students and then ask students to guess their names.
(Ask a few student to read the information and others guess.At last,the teacher shows the picture of the person.)
T:Look at the school ID card.Whose card is it?Who wants to read the information for us

Step 2 Listening & Speaking(2a~2c)
Work on 2a
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation and circle the coloured words they hear.
2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
Work on 2b
1.Ask one student to read the conversation and answer the questions in 2b.
(While reading,the teacher walks around and corrects students' pronunciations.)
T:Let's read the conversation together.Before that,let's look at the two questions first.Now,read together.
2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
Work on 2c
1.Ask students to read the passage again and complete the table in 2c.
T:Here is an information table about Mr Smith and Peter.Let's read the conversation together and fill in the table…You read so fluently.Now let's look at 2c.Please complete the table.
2.Ask students to share their answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes.

Step 3 Consolidation(2d)
Work on 2d
1.Ask students to read the conversation again and circle the words:who's,I'm,he's,and it's.
2.Ask students to find out what these words refer to.
T:What do they mean?What does “he” refer to?What does “it” refer to

T:“Who's” means “who is”.“I'm” means “I am”.“It” refers to a thing like the name,the class,the job…“He” refers to a boy or a man.
3.Ask students to role play the conversation with their deskmates and show themselves in front of the class.
4.Ask students to find out the phrases in the passage.
T:Look at the blackboard.Can you find out the following phrases?You have two minutes to underline them and then we share one by one.
(The teacher writes key points on the blackboard:How are you?This is our English teacher,Mr Smith.Who is your class teacher?What class are you in?My mistake.)

Step 4 Practicing(2e)
Work on 2e
1.Ask students to work in groups and do a memory test.
(Group leaders ask questions and others answer one by one.)
T:We make friends with four students,Peter Brown,Song Meimei,Emma Miller and Chen Jie.How much do you know about these students?Now you work in groups.Group leaders ask the questions and you answer one by one.The student who answers the fastest and most accurately will get one point.

Ask students to make a summary about what they have learned today.
