1.Understand Pauline's/Peter's personal information shared in the forum.
2.Talk about the differences between you and Pauline/Peter.

Cultural Awareness●Be aware of different cultural backgrounds and expectations regarding friendship and self presentation.●Respect for the diversity of views and approaches of others in the context of the forum community.
重点:
1.Students are able to describe Pauline's/Peter's personal information shared in the forum,such as names,hobbies,interests,etc.
2.Students are able to reply to the posts to introduce themselves with the key sentence patterns.
难点:
Students are able to correctly use the key sentence patterns to introduce themselves.
Step 1 Lead in
1.Show students some pictures of forums and ask them to brainstorm the names of the forums and what we can do on the forums.
2.Show students a teacher's photo boards and other information on the forum and ask them what they learn about him/her.
【设计意图】通过展示常见的论坛,激发学生的学习兴趣,学生能够对所学知识进行复习,同时引入主题。
Work on 1a
1.Ask students to look at the pictures in 1a,say the words and write the words under the correct pictures.
T:Look at the pictures in 1a.They are Pauline's and Peter's photo boards.What is this

2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
Step 2 Reading(1b~1c)
Work on 1b
1.Ask students to read the two students' posts,and match their posts with the photo boards.
2.Ask students to share their answers in class and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
Work on 1c
1.Ask students to read the posts again and complete the table with the information from the posts.
2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
(Students must share with complete sentences.The teacher writes the key sentence patterns on the blackboard.)
【设计意图】通过完成阅读任务,学生能够对文本有充分地理解并提高抓取关键信息的能力。
Step 3 Speaking(1d)
Work on 1d
1.Ask students to introduce their personal information with the help of the chart in 1c.
2.Ask students to compare the similarities and differences with Pauline/Peter.
T:Do you like hot pot?Is your favourite food Beijing roast duck?Do you have the same hobby as Pauline?Do you like the same sport as Peter?Now fill in the bubbles in 1d and talk about the similarities and differences between you and Pauline or Peter.
3.Ask some students to share the similarities and differences between them and Pauline/Peter.
(Students must share with complete sentences.They can look at the key sentence patterns on the blackboard.)
4.Ask students to retell the passage according to the table.

Step 4 Summary
1.Ask students to find the corresponding English phrases in the text according to the Chinese meanings on the PPT.
2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.

Step 5 Homework
1.Recite the passage and practise with your partner.
2.Ask students to introduce themselves in English in their forums.
