Step 1 Lead in
1.Play a short video about a middle school student's self introduction and ask students to find out the personal information of the student.
T:Look at the video.A middle school girl is talking about herself.Watch a video and tell me something about her.What do you know about her
Ss:Her name is…/She likes…/She is in Class…
T:Today we will learn about how to introduce ourselves.
【设计意图】通过视频的方式导入新课,激发学生的学习兴趣,同时启发已学习的知识。
Step 2 Listening & Speaking(1a~1d)
Work on 1a
1.Ask students to look at the sentences in 1a and tick the expressions they know.
2.Ask students to read the expressions and the teacher helps to correct their pronunciations if necessary.
Work on 1b
1.Ask students to listen to two conversations and number the pictures in the order according to the recording.
T:When we want to talk about ourselves,we can use the expressions in 1a.Now two persons are talking about themselves now.Let's listen to the tape and number the pictures in the order you hear them.
2.Ask students to share their answers.
Work on 1c
1.Ask students to listen again and circle the coloured words they hear.
2.Ask students to share their answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
3.Ask students to make a summary about the sentence patterns in listening scripts of 1c.
Work on 1d
1.Ask students to make a summary about the sentence patterns in 1d.
2.Ask students to make a conversation with the interrogative sentence patterns.
T:It's your time to make a conversation in pairs.Here is an example in 1d.Try to get more information about your deskmate.
3.Choose three or four pairs of students to share their conversations.

Step 3 Pronunciation & Speaking(1~2)
Show students the monophthong phonetic symbols /?/,/i?/,/?/,/e/.
(The teacher shows how to pronounce the four phonetic symbols one by one.)

Ss:It's /?/.

Work on 1
1.Ask students to listen to the recording and repeat after the recording.
2.Ask students to remember all the words,and then the teacher checks.
Work on 2
1.Ask students to listen to the recording and circle the sentences they hear.
2.Ask students to share the answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
(Students must answer the questions with complete sentences.)
3.Ask students to repeat after the recording.
4.Ask students to introduce one of their classmates with the key sentence patterns.
5.Ask students to read their introductions in class and others guess who they are.
