二、阅读理解
①We can see circles, squares and triangles everywhere in our daily life. Have you thought about their meanings in films Much like colors, different shapes can show different features of characters in the scenes.
② Circles represent things that are soft and natural. The round shape reminds us of things that appear in nature, like the sun, raindrops and so on. We can also connect circles with beautiful eyes, babies’ round faces… All these things make us feel happy and warm. This is why so many cartoon characters’ bodies—heroes, good people—are round in shape, because circles represent goodness, happiness and friendliness.
③ Squares show things that are unnatural or man-made, or things that are boring or old-fashioned. In the cartoon film Up, Carl has a square face and wears square glasses, while Russell, an 8-year-old boy with a round face, always wears round medals. These shapes show the characters’ personalities. Carl is stubborn (固执的) and lonely, while Russell is lovely and full of energy.
④ The angriest shape is the triangle. Every kid who draws a monster with sharp teeth draws a row of triangles, don’t they That’s because the shape represents fear, distrust and doubt in some way. Look at the bad guys in cartoons—they are all drawn with plenty of points and triangles, like Shengongbao in Ne Zha. And triangles are stable (稳固的) and don’t easily fall down. In films, this feature makes bad people difficult to deal with.
⑤ Not only in cartoons, but also in other kinds of films, different shapes are used for the same purpose. So, try to find the hidden shapes and you will know what the characters are like.
22.How does the writer explain the relationship between squares and characters’ personalities
A.By telling a story. B.By listing numbers.
C.By raising a question. D.By giving an example.
23.Which picture does the underlined word “triangle” refer to
A. B. C. D.
24.Which of the following is the structure of the article (①=Para 1,②=Para 2……)
A. B. C. D.
25.What is the text mainly about
A.Why different shapes represent different things.
B.What makes kids fascinated by heroes in films.
C.What different shapes represent in different films.
D.How cartoons make different colors and shapes
Dangal(《摔跤吧!爸爸》) tells a true story about an Indian man and his two daughters. His name is Mahavir. In real life, he is called “the father of Indian women wrestling” because thousands of women across India have been supported to take up wrestling with his efforts.
A very famous Indian actor—Aamir Khan, played the role of Mahavir in the movie. It was an unusual experience for him. Aamir Khan was very serious about his character(人物) and he tried to make this character close to the true story. In order to act well, he needed to put on weight to be very fat and then he needed to do sports to be very strong in a short time.
Aamir Khan started to eat a lot every day before making the movie. He ate at least 5 meals a day including much junk food. He became too fat to run quickly.
It is easy to be fat but difficult to be strong. Aamir Khan invited many coaches to train him to lose weight and it took him a few months to be strong. He must eat less food and drink more water. Strength training is also important. This kind of physical training is very boring. He had to lift different weights and did it over and over again. Aamir Khan set a goal to himself day by day and the minute he made it, he fell down on the ground and could hardly stand up. In the end, he became the exact person the movie needed.
The role he played was very moving and he succeeded at last. As he says, the most important thing in life is not whether you can reach your goal but whether you have made the greatest efforts.
26.Why is Mahavir called “the father of Indian women wrestling”
A.Because he is a very famous Indian player.
B.Because he played a role in the movie Dangal.
C.Because he supported many Indian women to take up wrestling.
D.Because he became strong in a short time.
27.From the passage, what is Aamir Khan’s job
A.A teacher. B.An actor. C.A director. D.A coach.
28.What does the underlined word “strength” mean in Chinese
A.力量 B.目标 C.疲劳 D.节食
29.Which of the following is NOT true about Aamir Khan
A.Dangal is a true story about Aamir Khan.
B.He became very fat at first and then lost weight in a very short time.
C.In order to act well, he trained so hard.
D.He tried to play a perfect role in the movie.
三、完形填空
In the sci-fi film, The Wandering Earth (《流浪地球》), humans save Earth without leaving it. In many—even most—space-themed films, whenever Earth faces a disaster (灾难), the solution is always running away from the planet in spaceships.
But the Chinese sci-fi movie, The Wandering Earth, offers a different and more ambitious idea. In the film, based on a short story by Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin, Earth is in danger of being destroyed by the dying sun. In reply, humans around the world work 30 to build a huge engine system that will push Earth away from the dying sun. 31 giving up Earth—again—this time we’re taking it with us.
This “ambition” didn’t come from nowhere. For thousands of years, “homeland” has had a soft point in 32 of Chinese people. One old idiom is “luoyeguigen”, which means returning to one’s homeland at the old age, like 33 leaves return to the roots of their trees. Or there is an ancient poem “The season called the White Dew begins tonight; Nowhere as in our native place is the moon so bright.” These 34 show the tight link that Chinese people have had with their homeland.
This special cultural background is probably the key 35 separates The Wandering Earth from Hollywood-style space films.
“What is Chinese sci-fi ” Guo Fan, the film’s director, said in an interview. “A movie that can really 36 our cultural and spiritual view can be called Chinese sci-fi. Or, we’re just copying others and telling the same American stories.”
And the makers of The Wandering Earth may have chosen the best time to tell its Chinese sci-fi story. The film was released on Feb. 5th, 2019, the first day of Chinese New Year. It was a time when many people had just made the 37 journey back to their hometowns.
So to them, there is only one possible way to tell the story. Earth goes wherever humans go, because it’s our home forever.
