It was on May 12th, 2008 that a terrible earthquake hit/struck Wenchuan city in Sichuan province. In a few terrible minutes, nearly the whole city lay in ruins. Sadly, about 374,000 people were badly injured. What’s worse, the number of people who were killed reached 88,000 or so and thousands of people became homeless. Soon after the quake, more than 100,000 officers and soldiers were sent to do the rescue work, saving many lives. To our delight, as much as 39.9 billion Yuan was donated to help.
