Greet students and engage them in a brief discussion about their hobbies and interests.2. Ask students if they know what a school club is and share some examples of clubs they may have heard of.Step 2 Work on 1a1. Have students read the comments from Alice, Lin Hui, and Jack in la.2. Ask students to discuss in pairs which clubs they think Alice, Lin Hui, and Jack should join based on their comments.3. Invite several pairs to share their ideas with the class and justify their choices.Step 3 Work on 1b1. Guide students to read the club ads in 1b. Ask students to match each student in 1a with a suitable club from 1b and justify their choices. Encourage students to use the information in the comments and the club ads to make their decisions.2. Explain new words and language points by teaching and giving some examples.Step 4 Work on 1c1. Direct students to read the club ads again and extract key information to complete the ta- ble in 1c. Monítor students as they fill in the table and provide assistance where needed.2. Have a few students share their completed tables with the class.Step 5 Work on 1d1.
