Unit 7 Happy Birthday!
Section A Grammar Focus (3a–3d)
【教学内容】
总结疑问词的用法。
【核心素养】
1.总结疑问词，掌握每个疑问词的用法。
2.了解世界上的一些特别生日及其日期。
3.学习中国的一些特别日子及日期表达。
【重点难点】
重点：让学生能够识别并使用疑问词，以及讨论特殊日子的日期和活动。
难点：训练学生的阅读理解能力和口语表达能力。
【教学过程】
Step 1 Lead- in
1. Greet the class.
2. Review the previous class by role- play the conversations in 2a.
3. Introduce what we will study this class.
Step 2 Work on 3a
1. Ask students to read the sentences after the teacher. Then read them themselves and translate the sentences into Chinese.
2. Circle the question words.
3. Help them summarize the question words: what, what time, when, where, why, who, how, how much, how many, how old. Explain how to use them.
what 什么; what time 什么时间; when 什么时候; where 哪里; why 为什么; who 谁; how怎样; how much 多少,多少钱; how many多少; how old多少岁。
Step 3 Work on 3b
1. Ask students to look at the question words in the box.
2. Ask students to fill in the blanks with the question words.
3. Let some students read their sentences.
4. Ask students to match the questions with the answers.
Step 4 Work on 3c
1. Tell students there are many special birthdays in the world.
2. Ask students to read the passage and underline the dates of the special birthdays.
3. Check the answers: William Shakespeare's birthday, Florence Nightingale's birthday.
4. Introduce the cultural knowledge about William Shakespeare and Florence Nightingale.
5. Encourage students to think of other special birthdays they know, such as Sun Zhongshan's birthday or Tree Planting Day.
6. Read the passage again and learn them by heart.
Step 5 Work on 3d
1. Ask students: When is our National Day What do we do on National Day Help them answer October 1st and activities we do.
2. Do the same with CPC Founding Day, PLA Day, School Founding Day.
3. Ask students to add more days in 3d.
4. Students work in small groups and check who knows the most of these special days.
Step 6 Summary and Homework
Summarize the key points of the lesson.
Homework: Write a short passage about your favourite special day and share it with your group members.
